I sat next to David Harris on my way back from Indy tonight; he is one cool dude!!! I followed him at Michigan, but not too much. I had spoken to him for 45 minutes (he got off in Detroit), and he answered all of my questions; he even went back and forth with me about me saying that the Big Ten is a joke compared to the SEC (Which it is). I'm gonna be rooting for him. He's projected as a 2nd rounder. I was also at the same terminal as Jarvis Moss, but I see him often. He did tell me that he ran a 4.6 and got 17 reps with 225, which is understandable considering the injury that he had for several years. He is still recovering from the staph infection that he had since his senior year in high school.
Read a report today that he didn't have the best of combines. I think it was him who ran a veyr good 40 but didn't look great in the other drills. And the jury's still out on Moss, whether his character issues are something to be concerned about. Regardless I don't think he'll be around at 25.
I like Harris, not as a fist rounder for sure, but in a weak LB class, I'd see him make good on a selection late 2nd or 3rd round. Unlike 98% of Michigan LB's he's actually got some speed to him, would be a good 2nd LB somewhere.
I've watched Michigan's defense closely this year...Branch, Hall, Woodley....and Harris was making most of the plays. IMO, Harris is a mid 2nd rd pick.
