Sorry to say it, but he looked OK. He developed a little chemistry with the TE, busted out and ran once, put it right there for Chambers in the end zone, though it was called back. Miamis' run blocking was not great though and they look like they are going to miss Ricky. They'll be tough to beat at home though, as usual. Not us, I'm talking about other teams going in there. Even Harrington looked good. Saban is a good coach. It's good to have Miami and New England strong through the Jets rebuilding because it'll make the Jets better in the long run, hopefully. J! E! T! S!
Truth is more likely that nobody saw him play. The Dawlpfinz not yet being relevant would cause that.
I wonder how long before Daunte gets arrested for something. I mean, if he's going to be in the gang?
I watched the game. He looked awful at first and I was thinking up witty things to bust my fins fans friends chops with. Then he starting playing well, very well. I hope this was because of the vanilla defenses shown in preseason because I do not want to hear these pricks (my friends - joking) talk all season. I'll believe he can be a good QB without Moss when I see him doing it in the regular season, but so far he looks good. The running game for the fins was completely awful, but they were facing arguably the best d-line in the league. :finssuck:
Big deal, he looked awsome last year in preseason and we all saw what that amounted to. He was on pace to shatter the interceptions in a year record before the knee injury stopped him.
He's looked good, he's a physical specimen but it's PRESEASON. I am surprised how well he has recovered from the injury BUt I'm still not worried b/c we'll see the real daunte when the pressure begins to mount.
Thanks for the kind words about Daunte, but what was wrong with the Run blocking? They didn't allow Carolina to get a 1st down until mid way through the 2nd Quarter. I'll take that anyday in any game.
I was talking about run blocking.......when Miami hands off the ball. There were no holes, but it's true that it was against Carolina in their building. You were talking about tackling.
I agree the run blocking could be better but at the same time the defenses that we played against were all some of the best in the league.
Problem with Culpepper is that he isn't a winner. He had one of the top offenses in the NFL over the course of the years and struggled putting up 8-8 records.
