I wonder if he knows that Francesa has been taking shots at him recently? First couple minutes of the interview he was talking about how Ryan said he was the best CB in the league and then saying that Ryan really likes to pump his players up while laughing. He's saying it like its such a stretch to even consider Revis in the top tier of CB'd in the league.
lol and just as I post this he says that a lot of people consider him one of the top corners in the league.
yeah well that show sucks unless u like baseball, or you wanna hear him ramble on incessantly about the yankees. anytime ive heard him talk about the jets hes seldomly right, and he hes such a fuckin slob god forbid he did any reporting or anything real, the only time he seemed to enjoy saying the word jets is when herm edwards invited him to training camp barbeques. revis, may not be THE best corner in football, but statistically this year he was a top 3. and if you want to incorporate AGE as a determining factor of projected success. yes, Darelle Revis is arguably the best in the league. i think one thing that goes uncredited to him is hes also active in run support aside from being a shutdown corner.
I wonder if Revis knew that Mike had said it was a joke that he made the Pro Bowl Even at the end of the interview Mike took a shot at him. He says according to your coach your already the best in the league so you have no where else to go. Thats kinda like saying, your really not the best in the league! Surprisingly, Revis took shots at Mangini. He said he couldn't relate to the players well and he is looking forward to not just sitting back on defense all game.
That's no surprise to me. The guy was reserved to the point of being a mute and didn't show any emotion or sign of rallying his guys on the sideline. Part of communication is showing SOME emotion. People respond to it. Mangini doesn't have any.
Did Francesca ever say why Revis being named to the Pro Bowl was a joke? Does he ever back up anything he says? He just likes to rile people up by having unconventional opinions, like that the Mets need to trade David Wright and Jose Reyes to win the World Series!
Yep. On the NFL Today, he either had him #2 or #3. Can't remember which right now. Revis was listed in the Top 3 by almost everyone on the show.
I think the most interesting thing to take out of this are his comments about Mangini. It pretty much confirms what we've been speculating, and personally I think it solidifies the justification in firing him.
That's what bugs me the most. If anyone wants to make a claim or state their opinion, thats fine. But he hasn't stated why he thinks Revis isn't a top CB in the NFL. Someone should call in and ask him specifically why he thinks this. By the way, has anyone ever heard Max Kellerman say that Corey Webster is a top 3 CB in the league? Now that's a joke.
I agree he's good. But Top 3? No way. And I'd also like to see how good he is when he's not a team with that Front 7 pass-rush. That would really prove it to me.
Which just goes to show how good Revis really is... locking WRs down with our sh1tty pass rush is no joke.
its all for ratings... In 2006 it he was talking about how Mets fans couldn't enjoy their division title because they were so many games ahead and it made the division boring down the stretch.... pure ratings tactic when the sports news day is slow.
