Darrelle Revis being ranked behind Andre Johnson in the top 100 is a crime.

Arguments can be made, and well, for the other 6 players, but there is no way on this blue and green planet that a justification can be intelligentlymade for this particular crime.

    The players should be ashamed.

Ummm Andre Johnson has been the best WR in the game the past half a dozen years. Not exactly a SLOUCH.

Revis should be above all wr in the league. He is consistently better at his job than any wr is at theirs.

I am 100% certain the thread starter is referencing the fact that in head-to-head matchups Revis has bitchslapped Johnson.

Furthermore, Johnson has no signature moment. Sure, he had a fight with Cortland Finnegan and made two or three game-winning catches in relatively meaningless regular season games. Johnson will need to make some big plays in playoff games before he can elevate to that top level of historic greatness.

All that said, am I up in arms that Revis was ranked slightly behind Johnson on some stupid list? No.

I understand Revis has owned AJ the past two years in their head to head matchups, but this isn't a list about head to head matchups. Its about body of work. There are alot of great players in the league. The top 10 guys are all in the same elite tier. You can't nitpick the exact order too much.

I'm not clicking on that link because it has to be from a regular season game.

Johnson will be a Hall of Famer even if he never plays in a playoff game. When I wrote about signature moments, I was writing about huge plays made in playoff games (think Lynn Swann's great catches in Super Bowl 10) or very important regular season games (think Emmitt Smith vs the Giants in the 1993 season finale and Joe Montana at Denver in a 1994 MNF game). Where is Johnson's big effort in a meaningful regular season game? Johnson has none because his team has yet to play in such a game.

Who cares? This list is meaningless anyway, and the only real fair way to rank players is by position, which the players got right (Revis by far the highest ranked CB).

the light of optimism dims in RobA's eyes, and is replaced by the black darkness of cynicism.

I couldn't give a shit where Revis is ranked in a list that includes Donovan McNabb as one of the best players of the season.

Revis completely shut down Andre Johnson in every matchup they have been in. Anyone who pays attention to either player should have known that.

It is the same as every other one of these lists where whoever is ranking players base 70% of their opinion on the players' reputations.

Its ok. The players he's behind are all first ballot hall of famers with careers spanning twice the length of Darrelle's. Ain't nothin to scoff at.

I think Revis is better as in importance. There are many great Wide Recievers. How many Shutdown Corners are there?

Revis dominates his position more than any other player in the league does at his respective position.
