Daniel Murphy Appreciation Thread

    I know it's early but Murphy has shown to be incredibly consistent. He goes deep into every at bat and really makes the pitcher work.

    98 At bats
    36 hits
    7 doubles
    2 home runs
    2 triples
    14 rbi's
    16 walks
    18 strikeouts
    .367 Avg
    .452 OBA
    .993 Ops

    In 115 plate appearances he has 497 pitches or 4.31 P/PA

    Hopefully he is our starting 2nd baseman next year.

    You are aware that this thread probably doomed him to hit .115 for the rest of the year at least right?

    The Mets usually don't have players come up through the minors with a refined, skillful plate approach. Tools are great, but this is refreshing to see.

    and doesnt murphy play outfield?

    He was a third basemen in the minors. They switched him this year to 2b because of Wright but I don't think he's ready to play second base in the majors.
