Exactly. We need a lot more evidence before we either put him in the hall of very good or execute him.
99.9 percent of people who didn't like him or thought it was a ridiculous pick never watched him play including myself which is why I didn't have a strong opinion ....post draft analysis hysteria is the dumbest thing in sports....my "hot takes" are at least based on what I see and not parroting other people's opinions.
He just threw another INT against the 30th ranked Cardinals defense. Jones is better than Sam crowd will hopefully shut up after today.
Jones better than Sam? I thought this thread was about Jones himself being overrated. For those who care about the Giants' QB, fwiw he's just a rookie who before today started less than half a dozen games. edit: just dropped that TD pass nicely into fairly decent coverage. Forget Jones, think kill Brady.
Oh geez lol....I'm watching Jones and he looks pretty good after a rough start...I think some of you are way too hung up on the Jets vs Giants nonsense. Murray looks pretty good also although he's basically completed 12 5 yard passes.
He's a young, highly drafted QB so I think the tendency is to overreact to everything positive and negative. Remember when RGIII was the greatest QB ever after his rookie season ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Exactly the week to week overreaction of young QBs is silly...Jones was destroyed when he was drafted now he's overrated within a month. Lol. Both QBs in this game are potential franchise guys imo but it takes a few years to really know.
Giants are in the middle of a rebuild so, Jones has to go thru the growing pains just like the rest of the roster. Too early to write off Jones.
I thought Schumer might become a good HC. They came out flat as a pancake got back in the game and couldn’t make a block on the o line without holding for almost the entire second half. They really made everything look way to hard.
Just watched Giants’s game higlights. Kid looked good. I might have jumped the gun a little. Jury is still out.
Draft-Jones sucks he's a back up. Week 3- Danny Dimes is awesome Weeks 4-6- Jones is overrated as hell Week 7-This Jones kid maybe good after all
he looked good yesterday. very up and down as to be expected for a rookie QB overall. he's had 2 good games and 4 bad games in 6 starts
Jones's two good games were against the Bucs and Lions defenses, which are two of the worst in the league. Sam has faced the Bills, Cowboys, Pats, and Jags defenses, two of which are good and two of which are elite. But the next six Jets games are against the Dolphins twice, Giants, Bengals, Raiders, and Redskins, which are all bad defenses. So we'll see how things look come December.
yeah i'm aware of that but still give credit where it's due. if he wants to be good though he's gotta play better against the good defenses. he really only has to face 2 though this year left. the packers and the bears. the rest of the schedule is very mediocre to poor defenses for him. not like 25% of his games comes against the top 2 defenses in the NFL like the jets have to face.
Rex doubling down again. Also Greeny can go piss off. He was sitting there all quiet next to that clown Ryan Clark when Clark said the jets should trade Darnold.
Jones is actually having a decent rookie year with one exception. The fumbles are simply ridiculous. He's TD to INT ratio, completion percentage and QB rating are all good for a rookie. The fumbles don't show up on his stat line but it's an absolute killer as a team stat. If he doesn't get his ball security issues straightened out it doesn't matter how smart he is or how accurate he is.
