Can’t believe the love fast. Darnold is twice the QB Jones is yet Jones is considered the better QB by my annoying Giants friends and NY Media

Fun fact: Darnold is younger than Jones.

It's because Darnold is a Jet and it's easy to make fun of the Jets. People are forgetting how good 14 looked to end the season last year and then even vs the Bills D who has stifled every other QB they have faced. Sam with MONO had the best game out of all of them. People are quick to forget and want clicks.

In fairness to Jones the Giants look like an NFL team that can at least compete since Jones entered the lineup. I suspect when Barkley is healthy he will start to look a lot better again. You can't look at Jones in a vacuum without looking at how bad the Giants looked with Eli starting with Barkley.

Also with the Jets sucking the Giants are the only relevant NY area team. Until Sam actually turns the Jets into a winner, the Giants will always get better press. They actually have a stadium in the Metro area.

You make an excellent point. There is definitely a Giant's bias in the media. Add the fact that Manning another overrated Giants QB has been so bad, Jones has looked great to them. The Giants media will try to put Eli Manning in the HOF next which will be such a joke.

The best New York team so far are the Bills and the best QB in New York is Sam. You put Sam on that Bills team and they would have beaten the Patriots and be the undefeated team.

Rex doubled down today saying he would take Jones over Sam, but said he would take Sam over Dak.

Eli beating the Pats twice like he did made it a lock that he’ll be in the HOF. That and the fact his last name is Manning.

The Giants have to be seen as big brother and the model franchise.

You can't fight the fact that the two greatest teams to lose in the SB lost them to NY teams who happened to have QB's with huge talent and mediocre lifetime stats. They fact that Eli did it against arguably the greatest team and QB/HC combination in football history twice solidified his place in the HOF. Eli has never been overrated. He has always been a huge talent who has mostly underachieved but on the biggest stages had two historic runs that were sensational.

The Giants media doesn't have to do anything. He's a lock and it's because he outshone Brady twice on the biggest stage in football and nobody has to be reminded of it.

DJ is getting the same love baker got last year. Veteran QB is losing on a bad team. comes in, wins a few games. looks ok gets hyped to shit, then crashes back to reality. Same thing with minshew this year.

People forget that sam's 1st pass was a pick 6, then he threw a perfect game after that opening week 1 last year in a 48-17 whooping of the lions.

DJ seems like a perfect eli replacement. he'll be a mediocre QB for the giants for a long time but anytime he does anything remotely good he'll get hyped to shit

As of today the Giants have no direction or hope with dolts like Shurmur and Gettleman at the helm. Their defense is trash. They don't have a true QB of the future. And despite their recent struggles Philly and Dallas are way way ahead of them

I actually like schurmur. and barkely is a top 3 RB in the NFL. DJ is good enough with the right team around him. Gettleman is awful though and ruined that team badly. they won't win with him as a GM. he shredded their D and hasn't improved their offense. in the past 2 years this is who he's gotten rid of or let snacks, walk, JPP, vernon, Collins, OBJ all 5 are pro bowlers. You have 2 good edge rushers, a top 5 safety, and a top 3 WR. He reached for DJ when he could have had an elite prospect for the defense (josh allen) and still got DJ later. then used the 17th overall pick on a run stopping DT. he has like 37 million in dead cap this year plus 23 million on their now backup QB. that's 60 million or 1/3rd of the cap on players not contributing at all. that's more then the jets are paying their top 5 highest paid players this season. He passed on darnold (thank god) for a RB in 2018. He could have an offense right now of darnold, OBJ, shepard, Ingram, Bell. and on the defense had josh allen, JPP, vernon, collins, snacks.

I don't know, just never saw anything from Shurmur to even hint at him potentially being a good coach. And while Barkley is great RB's generally have shorter shelf lives, and get hurt

Something about Jones just doesn't scream franchise QB. Long term starter sure maybe, Never a top 10 guy though. Maybe not even top 15. He doesn't have the best arm. Accuracy is just ok it seems. We haven't seen a ton of him in general but I just don't see anything special about him

Based on this, we should go ahead and schedule Sam’s enshrinement.

Biggs you have been listening so much to the senile Mike Francesa, you are using his exact argument. By the way, Mike Francesa is a joke. The # of prank calls proves it.

Given this illogical argument, then Joe Flaco who beat the Patriots several times in the playoffs should be in the HOF? The fact that the pro-Giants national media can't admit he sucked for the past several seasons again illustrates my point he is overrated. The fact that you can't admit he sucked the past several years proves my point!

Are these HOF stats? Record 116-116 TD 362 INT 241

Did he outshine Brady in the Super Bowl? Another example of the media making the NFL all about the QB. In both Super Bowls, the Giants won because of their defense and Gronk being hurt in the 2nd SB also. Their defense was much superior to the Patriots. It was not because Manning was better than Brady which is an ignorant thing to say, it was because the Giant's defense was better.

1st SB Manning stats: 19/34 255 yards 2 TD 1 INT while the Pats were held to just 14 points. Oh, sure it was Manning, not the defense? He didn't deserve MVP in that game, the defense did.
2nd SB Manning stats: 30/40 296 yards 1 TD 0 INT he may deserve MVP in that game. A game the Pats would have won if Gronk wasn't hurt. But the Giants defense did hold the Pats to 17 points still.

So if Manning is to be put in the HOF for SB performance and MVPs then the following non-HOF QBs should be in also, Joe Flaco, Phil Simms, Doug Williams, Mark Rypien, and Nick Foles. They all were SB MVPs and therefore should be a lock to the HOF? Foles, who had much better stats then Manning ever did, beating the Pats should be a lock for the HOF? Any non-Giant's fan can see this logic is total bull shit!

Peyton Manning is a HOF, not Eli Manning. Nice try though and if he does get in the HOF, it definitely proves a pro-Giants bias in the media!

Hard to say on DJ at this point. He looks alot smoother on drop backs/releasing the ball than he ever looked in college. He throws on time w anticipation, accuracy & plenty of zip. That said everything is one read & heavily scripted.

I worry about his ability to go through multiple progressions & everything off schedule. His balls floated pretty bad outside the hashes & over the top at Duke..thats something can be concealed in a scripted 1 read offense.Hows he respond when his first & 2nd reads are covered or when he has arm fatigue later in the year? Is he able to stand on his head & make plays on his own or is he simply a system QB who needs help around him?

I haven't listened to Fat Mike since at least 2010. I don't live in NY and I can't stand Mike or talk radio. Manning was superb in both SB runs. The Giants don't sniff a SB if Manning doesn't lift his game. Manning had 15 TD's and 2 Int in the two SB runs. He absolutely played high quality HOF quality NFL championship football in both runs. 3 Game winning drives in the 2007 run and 2 Game winning drives in the 2011 SB run.

I happened to be at the SF NFC Championship game. Manning took an absolute beating. He didn't turn the ball over and he calmly threw 2 TD's when the Giants got in position.

Sorry he's going in. He lifted his game in 2 4 game runs to a championship. Winning championships is why you play the game.

If you go back to the old days on GG I would have put Terrell Davis in the HOF before Curtis Martin for the same reason. Dominated in Championship runs.
