Those **** rats were down by like 17 a couple of minutes ago. Now it's an 8 point game. I don't watch much OSU football but whatever those bastards were doing they better get back to it. USC has to go down!

That would be nice. But you can't take any chances. These top 10 teams have to have losses to help us.

I don't know who to root for now. thinking of my own interests it should be better for ND to beat USC undefeated rather than beat then after they lost to OSU......

You wanted USC to win if you are a Notre Dame backer.

Eh, I disagree. But then again, I usually disagree with what Lee Corso says. We have to be honest with ourselves and admit that we had no shot at the title game anyway. Too many undefeateds and too many one-loss teams ahead of us to have any shot. So the best we can really hope for is a BCS game and I think it's already a lock whether we beat USC or not (politics and all).

As for the people that think we did have a shot if we beat an undefeated USC, think about this. USC is undefeated and is now #3 after being #2 earlier in the year. Obviously the voters aren't impressed with them. It wouldn't matter if ND beat an undefeated USC because the voters are not impressed with that team. The record of USC is not going to do enough to have a genuine impact at the end of the season in my opinion on ND's title hopes. To be honest, as long as ND gets past UNC, Air Force, and Army (which they better), I think they're a lock for a BCS game win or lose in LA.

    Lee Corso?

You know where I got my info from?

    Your coach.

Charlie Weis said he wanted USC to be undefeated when Notre Dame came into town.

It would have been to Notre Dame's benefit to have beaten an undefeated USC team. It would have helped their BCS ranking.

But hey, if you had little confidence in the Irish, so be it.

As a ND fan you should want USC to win so ND can beat an unbeaten USC team.

I didn't say that's where you got your info from. But that's where I heard it first, so that's where I got that info from. I understand it would have been to our benefit in the numbers, but the chance of ND actually making it was so slim to begin with that it doesn't matter.

Has nothing to do with little confidence in ND. I think ND will be 11-1 by the end of the year. But whether or not USC is undefeated is irrelevant is my point because voters were already unimpressed with USC.

By the way, Charlie Weis says things that show TOO much confidence in my opinion sometimes. I don't take everything he says to heart. He knows that beating an undefeated USC was in no way a sure ticket to any title game. The chances were extremely slim to none, and now they're just none. No big deal.

I wish there was some way to have an 8-team playoff so we wouldn't have to worry so much about hoping our opponents win games when they are not playing our favorite teams.

Could you imagine if that was how the NFL worked? "Oh, we now must root for Detroit to win as many games as possible. It will help the Jets rankings."

College football is okay to watch if bored on Saturdays. It would be better if there was an easier way to crown a national champion.
