Doesn't it feel great to have all our stars signed to long term deals much more reasonable then the ones signed recently? That said considering the Vikings situation (a rebuilding team with some elite players on it) the onlly way they could re-sign Peterson was to throw A LOT of money at him... and so they did. Can't blame them. With the old rookie scale system they would already have a lot of money tied up to the rookie QB... this way they get to spend it on the players that are truly deserving.
They get to spend it on ONE person deserving. It was only high first round picks that got a lot of up front money. The way teams are throwing this around will definitely come back to haunt them in a few years.
Wasn't Albert Haynesworth paid a 7 year, $100 million contract by the Redskins? That's some coinage right there.
you never know how the contract pays out until you see all the details. it's probably not as bad as it sounds
He's never going to see the full 96 million. It's basically a 3yr 36 million, or 4 for 48. Jut like Haynesworth was. He probably gets cut after the 4th year maybe the 3rd. Even if they keep him it will be as a restructure.
Yes, thank you, everyone gets how guaranteed money works. Please let us just be impressed by the size of the contract for a while. That's why they sign them to massive dollar amounts they'll never see.
Yeah, Chris Johnson wasn't a good player last season because he only ran for 1364 yards (good for 4th in the league). He should run for 2000 yards every year...
