Even though he played terrible yesterday, getting beat by a rookie twice with the same move, is there any word on his injury?

It looked a lot like "I'm gonna fake an injury so I don't have to play in this long game anymore." Woody was the weakest link in a brittle chain Sunday and he is going to have to make it up to the Jets. Frankly, he looked like a slight upgrade over Anthony Clement against the Raiders. Fucking turnstile.

In my opinion, Tackle should be our first pick of the draft next year unless we're in striking distance of a franchise quarterback.

Maybe Bill Callahan is looking to get back to coaching ranks in Oakland by getting on the good side of Al Davis. haha

KC should not record one sack next week. Faneca needs to step it up

Woddy does seem a bit... uhmm.... slow at RT. I know traditionally the LE is not the "speed rusher" but some teams put them there... and those sacks were killers.

How did his replacement do?... seemed ok to me... not sure h ow long he was in there for though.

Depends where we pick. If we're picking in the top 10 or so, I'd have to say we need a good skill position player or pass rusher. A guy that can really break the game for us. We don't have a good RB, and they develop the fastest, so that'd help out quickest. I don't believe in a 1st round WR, I think those you take in the 2nd and 3rd since they're so hard to guage and aren't worth 1st round money.

I also would like another guard. I know we just got Faneca and Woody, but I'd like to keep drafting for depth. And if the new guys play better? Well seeya, I don't care that you're making a lot, you have to go.

  7. The guy has one bad game and everybody's down his throat. Funny enough that he's been our second best lineman in every other game. Never saw any threads about him than!

Actually the thread is about his injury. I don't think he has been below average at all, but against the Raiders he and the rest of the line played horrible. Do you honestly disagree with that?

    I agree

Some of the blame has to go to the CS. They played a lot of spread offense. Woody is a very good power blocker, he struggles when he is one on one with a good edge rusher. They put him in that situation all day.

He still had a very poor day

200 plus rushing yards...the line didnt play THAT bad. All the pressure the Raiders got on Favre was due to good pass defense and lets be honest....Favre was just "off" on Sunday. I'm sure he'll recover on this week against Herm.

Yes your right the run blocking was good, I was more leaning toward the pass protection. Every time Favre went back to pass it seemed the pocket collapsed around him immediately, which I'm sure didn't help during the ints. It also didn't help that the coaches waited until third down in the three overtime possessions to pass, because Oakland knew they could tee off on us and that we couldn't adjust our blocking scheme to their blitzes.

Why did we hire Callahan again?

the run blocking must have been REAL good if thomas jones racked up the yardage. the raiders did get alot of pressure on favre and he was "off" i agree. but where is the coaching? why didnt we make adjustments??

  14. Well they did a great job run blocking....pass protection wasnt great..but also wasnt as bad as people are making it out to be. Many of the hits Favre took were a result of Oakland blitzing more people than we had blockers...that's scheme..not player error.

Francesa and Beningo have been bashing guys like Brick all week long..but how many sacks did he give up? I could be wrong but he gave up one major qb pressure and that was pretty much it. Funny that nobody mentioned the Ol the first 5 games..only the one so-so game they had. Unbelieveable

He gave up 4 pressures, 2 of them were almost stripped balls, but no sacks. All of them came in the 4th Q or OT. He looked beat - endurance seems to be an issue especially with all that run blocking.

He was very good in run blocking though.

There was plenty of pressure coming from the other places though.

Woody had been very good up until that game. You have to wonder about how much of the two horrible whiffs were because of his talent, or because he was in there playing hurt.

My guess, he was hurting and favoring one side. He went to block outside twice and was beaten inside. If I'm not mistaken, Hunter came shortly thereafter for some reps.

I have no confirmation of this, just what it looked like to me.

Woody struggled a bit on Sunday but he has been good most of the year so far.

With our top 5 pick this coming draft we can get a stud LT and move Brick to RT. Until then we go with what we have.
