    Pos Player Team Salary
CB Nnamdi Asomugha Raiders $9.465 million
DE Jared Allen Chiefs $8.8 million
LB Karlos Dansby Cardinals $8 million
DE Terrell Suggs Ravens $8 million
OT Stacy Andrews Bengals $7.5 million
RT Jordan Gross Panthers $7.5 million
DT Albert Haynesworth Titans $7.25 million
TE Dallas Clark Colts $4.5 million
TE L.J. Smith Eagles $4.5 million

So far the only one that was a suprize that hurt us was Andrews and Gross.
    Haynesworth and Suggs were givens.

As far as remaining offensive tackles goes; 1 Flozell Adams (Cowboys) is available and ranked the best. Others for consideration: 3 Sean Locklear (Seattle), 5 Chris Terry (KC), 7 Maurice Willams (Jacksonville), 8 Kwame Harris (San Fran), and 9 George Foster 340 lbs (Detroit).

Offensive Gaurds: 1 Alan Faneca (Pitt), Lilja (Colts signed ext. - out - gone), 3 Jacob Bell (Tennessee) , 4 Larry Allen (San Fran), 6 Jake Scott (Ind).

Wide Receivers: It's Berrains (Bears) or no one.

Defensive Tackle poss NT: Isaac Sopoaga 330 lbs (San Fran) is the only one worth considering; all other notables have signed, been franchised, or are not 300 lbs.

So as anyone can see from the above. We do have a good chance of solidifying our offensive line with what is available. Obviously if we landed Adams and Faneca we would be set for the next 3 - 5 years and our line would be very formidable at that point. I somehow doubt that we get both, but even if we got one we have done something good. I think Adams is the prize. At guard their are others ones besides Faneca that would still do us good - Jacob Bell or Larry Allen would be an improvement. The other play I like is getting George Foster from Detroit and making him a guard.

TBH, I can see Cincy rescinding that tag if they can't work out a long term deal. If I'm Andrews I sign the deal today and laugh all the way to the bank. What has he earned in his career to date?

So...FAs I still like who might actually be available:

    Tommy Kelly
    Corey Williams
    Jacob Bell
    Sean Locklear
    Randy Starks
    Isaac Sopoaga
    Jake Scott

I wouldn't mine Faneca or Maurice Williams either...but I'd like youth.

^^^I understand you wanting to shy away from Adams because he is 32, but the guy is a mauler.

It wouldn't hurt to have some more experience on the line either. I'd prefer to get Adams for RT and Bell for LG.

I wouldn't close the door on him. He's older, but my main issue with him is that he's a LT not a RT. He also enjoyed his best season last year because Davis was just...sick at LG.

If he'd sign to play RT then cool...Bell and Locklear won't necessarily come cheaper anyway...not with the way young OL guys are getting paid.

I am making the assumption that NE will retain Moss.

I didn't include Trufant because I am not convinced we are desperate for another CB.

Dammit man...I know I'm getting repetitive but it's moves like this that proves my point about Mangini's pure suckitude. The guy just has no clue and lets everyone slip by.

Trufant is going to be tagged by Seattle...and Berrian or no one?...BRYANT JOHNSON...a first round pick who will finally get a chance to shine...he is going to explode next season...how can you not take a look at him?...Berrian is also a good option, but its not only him...

I'd take Bryant Johnson over Berrian any day.

Berrian's pretty one dimensional, and he's got McCatchless' hands. Johnson's bigger, he's still fast, he's a more well rounded WR, he's a better route runner...

Starks, RT, Steelers: Just got T-Tagged (Transition Player designation). Eventhough not too many people on this forum like him, the Steelers seem to think otherwise.

Bell can still be in play.....hopefully.

Probably, whether franchise him or a new contract...hard to imagine them letting him go.

I agree on this one. I expect Andrews to sign the tender sooner rather than later.

What about Stallworth or Gaffney? They can't keep both, right?

Personally, although I believe he's a bona fide playmaker, something about Stallworth scares me. If he gets cut, that'll be four teams in three years.

It also seems like the Patriots made a deliberate attempt to phase Stallworth out and Gaffney in as third receiver toward the end of the season. Something smells.

I'd love to get Gaffney, though.

How is he letting them slip by? It is not the FA period yet, and they resigned him before he could even be available? Am I mistaken, he was never available to begin with?
