I say that Turner, Baker, Kroul, Felix (only if we find a suitable interior lineman), Gilbert, McIntyre, Trufant and Wilson are the next ones to go.
The Jets have some big decisions. My Cuts: Baker....probably PS McKnight (WR) ...probably PS Berning...maybe PS Posey....maybe PS Trufant T Wilson (Not Kyle) Payne...IR?? Bellore...PS Aaron Maybin Gilbert McIntrye & Lankster make the 53..based on play and eligibility to the PS. My guess on the final 10 cuts.
He should, but go thru all the spots, there isn't room, he can go on the P.S. Mauga is good insurance/depth at LB.
The ink on Bellore's name won't even be dry when they list him on the PS, before some team comes along and grabs him. Can't see him going there.
I understand, but who are you going to cut, if you keep Bellore??? Bellore was my last cut....everyone left desrves a shot. Maybe Lankster gets cut if we keep Bellore.
this times a hundred bellore deserves to be on this team dont care, rex is always talking about which 53 players make us the best team and best players play. hes gonna have to drop his DB boner if he expects any depth in the LB unit
Maybe, but given Rex's affinity for DB's and Feet, I don't see us going too thin in those ranks either. Maybe we stick with 4 WR since we have Cumberland, who looks as though he'll certainly be in the mix this year. To be a fly on the wall for the next 24 hrs.
When you get down to #54 & #55 , it's a difficult decision. What I look at, is who is eligible for the Practice Squad and who isn't and base it on their play. McIntrye isn't eligible, from what I've read, and Bellore is...so Bellore is the one cut.
Again, I agree...but who are we going to cut instead from my list of 10 cuts???...tough decision. Talk is cheap..make the call! Lankster desrves to make this team just as much as Bellore, if not more.
i think bellore has more potential to be an actual 3 down linebacker, sure McIntyre has is already proven on ST ionno I just like Bellore's ceiling more than his. i didnt watch every qtr of preseason but Mauga and Bellore appear to be our best options not named Westerman
There will be a surprise cut or two and I think Lowery is on the way out to make way for depth in other spots. He has topped out potential wise and I think the staff feels they can upgrade his spot in the secondary on ST's. It's tough to make a case for Tracey Wilson sticking because there is nothing to go on. I think the staff feels he can make it to the practice squad and that he can be the safety depth needed in case of injury.
Patrick Turner is our 5th WR, we could go with 4 and keep Scotty McKnight, Mike Campbell and DePalma on the PS. Let's remember we can only dress 45, so Bellore, McIntrye, Felix, Powell, Lankster etc probably won't dress.
Here is my guess at the 10 to go: Payne McKnight Baker Gilbert Maybin Berning Posey Lankster Wilson Bellore (this is the oneI really don't want to happen)
I actually do. I think he has familiarity with this defense and they just brought him in, which tells you what they think of the current guys.
