    The hiring is imminent, apparently.

I'm surprised that they didn't want Girardi, and I'm surprised that he wanted to go to a team that bad. I wonder if he's negotiating an escape clause so that he can go to the Yankees next year, after Torre is gone?

Sadly the cubs really arent that bad... the you need a hospital in the BP but other than that I think with a healthy Lee they will be Okay.

Cubs suck. Need at least four new starters in the field and probably as many as 3 starting pitchers.

Cubs were 15th in the NL in runs scored, last in OBP, 14th in ERA, last in walks given up, last in innings per start, last in total fielding chances, last in assists, last in double plays made, and 15th in outfield assists. In the other categories they were mediocre at best.

So, yeah, except for the fact that they can't hit, pitch, or field, they're a solid team.

You're right, it should be common knowledge by now. We should just add it to our Pledge of Allegiance so that every kid knows it by age 6. j/k

rumors that Piniella could push Chicago to pursue A-Rod, although the Cubs don't have a lot to trade.

I guess, I can't take any credit though, not been a fan long enough. The four or five years I've followed the sports pales into insignificance against real fans of either franchise!

At least my hockey team has high hopes this year (Nashville).

Interesting. Would be a nice infield with Ramirez 3B, A-Rod SS, Theriot 2B and Lee 1B (better if we add a marquee 2B as well).

I can see a deal being made that sees Mark Prior and a couple of prospects, possibly Guzman and Ryu, head to NY.

no way we give up zambrano. No deal is worth losing our only reliable pitcher.

The guys on 1st & 10 (ESPN) just said that Lou might want ARod..

Then when Skip Bayless asked Woody Paige who they would trade to get him, Woody said Mark Prior & Kerry Wood... Exactly what we (the yankees) need, another injury-prone SP
