Great Article by Manish, I hope we pick Peyton 7 times when we play them. 3 Int's- Revis, 2 Int's- Cro, 2 Int's- Wilson

Now with our 4th CB being Lowery and possibly Marquis Cole or Brian Jackson as our 5th CB's we have the best cornerback group in the NFL IMO.

That was indeed a really good article, not just a fluff piece, even though it was all good news.

Im sorry if this brought you any horrifically vivid memories. Coleman will be cut in due time.

Nice review of the trade that we all know was the most important move this past offseason.

Cro and Wilson in with Revis is down right scary. Yuor goign to hear the words "coverage sack" from the announcers a lot this upcoming season.

I don't like that, there's no need for a coach to take shots at players after they leave like that. he could compliment the new guys w/o taking shots at the old guys.

Finally, a writer who can preach to the choir. Nice job Mehta.

Not that I want my corners on an island all the time, but the D-line didn't get any push on those plays either if I recall correctly. It was a double edged sword, no rush and shoddy secondary play, mainly due to injury (Strickland) and Sheppard stinking up the joint.

I don't think he was taking shots. Pettine doesn't come off as a trash talker. I would chalk that up to his lack of polished diplomatic interview skills. Have you ever seen a presser with Pettine? He's 2 steps removed from being a caveman.

If he had just called Cromartie and Pool 'upgrades at the position', it would have meant the same thing as saying their names, but he was probably answering questions asked about Sheppard and Rhodes, and answered them straight.

"I think he's an upgrade over Lito - a clear upgrade over Lito," Pettine told me. "He fits our style of football. When you have your wide receiver line up outside the numbers, we're going to eliminate him. That's the one thing this kid can do. … And I think we upgraded over Kerry (Rhodes) with Brodney Pool and the existing safeties that we had. So we feel we've taken the secondary that finished No. 1 in the league and made improvements to it."

HAHA! I laughed when read that.

I sure hope they are right about Cromartie and we aren't saying the same shit about him that we are about Lito now. Admittedly, I am no expert on Cromartie, but I hope his man coverage skills are as good as advertised. If so, I feel sorry for the other QBs in the league.

Also, Sanchez will have a shitty training camp trying to complete passes with those guys around.

That's the point, there is no need to mention the former players. We know who they are.

he had no business being on the field in the first place. It was as if Darrelle Revis was the only CB to suit-up for that game. it was him and a bunch of rejects, effing superstar Lito Sheppard was BENCHED because of his shit-tastic performance, hell, i know for a fact i could have done better than either him or Coleman, and i'm Jim Leonhard's size with Damien Woody's speed and Shaun Ellis's lung-capacity :breakdance:

That wasn't my point. Pettine answered a direct question instead of dancing around playing Mr. No More Tears. He's a football coach, not an orator. So he accidentally answered a question in a not-so-PC way. Big deal. Rex does that at every press conference.

I said this before, I think they should hedge their bets with Cro and lock him up for 3-4 years while his stock is low. If he has a big year (and I absolutely think he will) there's no way we can afford him with the big 4 due.

I 100% agree with you. I think he's going to look real good in our defense this year and will want a big paycheck. I would love to see a 3-year extension.

No need to worry about Rhodes' feelings. He didn't care enough to work his tail off last year until he was embarassed.
