Chad Pennington lost his job as the New York Jets' starting quarterback, but he remains the most-penalized quarterback this season. He has nine touchdowns and six penalties. the whole article is here... http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/colum...o_mike&id=3102510&lpos=spotlight&lid=tab2pos2 i thought this was kind of an interesting tidbit.
I wonder how they operationalized a penalty. Because Pennington has taken a number of Delay of Game penalties trying to draw teams off sides. At least two I can remember of the top of my head.
Tennessee Jet makes a perfect point. He's taking Delay penalties for that AND ALSO smartly, has taken delays when the 5 yds won't really hurt instead of taking a time out.
This is an absurd stat. How can a QB be called for a penalty except for a delay. And in the case of our delays, they've mostly been for good reason or called by the coach.
