Mortenson just reported that Cowher's agent says he's not interested in the Jets job.

I KNEW he was a homo. I'll be he'll use some non-gay excuse, like how he enjoys working for CBS. Queer.

bah, who needs him. He's just a white Herm Edwards who benefitted from great coordinators.

    Get SHANAHAN!

Why would Shannahan come here. After what Woody pulled, the Jets will be lucky to get anyone of decent caliber. Marty might take it but what would be the point.
Plus bringing in another coach could possible mean we may go back to 4-3 def. What a franchise. Thanks alot Woody. I know it is early but how can you make us happy for next season when you just threw a talented young coach under the bus. What coach would come here?

WHat's funny is that Cowher's reps talked to the JETS and just like that it was over.

What the fuk did Tannywood say?

What did Woody pull exactly? Mangini got 3 full years. He made some terrible decisions and pissed away a division title, then a playoff spot this year. He got what he deserved.

We're going into a new stadium, have talent on both sides of the ball, the NFL's best training complex, this is not a full 0-16 Lion like rebuild. Anybody who doesn't want this job is braindead.

"I look forward to working with you."

Probably what we've been hearing all along... That Cowher didn't want to get back into coaching this year and so wasn't interested.

    Exactly!!!
Glad you're on board with the theory!!!
So why have a meeting if you're not interested? Something was there and Tannywood did not meet expectations.

-Cowher : Can I bench Favre?
    -Tannywood: NO
*Door shuts and Cowher takes the stairs*

Agree that fundamentally there is probably a lot of truth to the line we have been hearing for a while that he simply does not want to coach next year (now watch him go to Denver, LOL...)

But I would have thought the prospect of dealing with favre (first the "will he retire" thing, and then if he plays another year how to coach someone of his stature but who made such unbelievably bad decisions down the stretch and who the owner has such a hard on for) did not help
