I wasn't mocking her. I was serious about what i said. She made a bad decision based on her own ignorance and the falsehoods fed to her by nuts. In her last days she cautioned others against following her path. A good deed does not wipe out a bad one, nor does a bad deed wipe out a good one, but at least she tried something. In her last days she thought of others and tried to warn them, even though every word caused her more pain than she would face if she stayed silent. I hope the recalcitrant quarter of this country heed her dying words.

Stephen Colbert's writers deserve a raise for how fast they came up with this one.

I don’t know anyone who thinks this. I don’t get this at all.

I know folks get frustrated. But there’s a difference between actively wishing death on other folks and wanting folks to do what’s right for everyone.

My take on that is, “I hope you don’t die, but if you do, or if you cause pain/suffering on others because you could not stand to be inconvenienced, then that’s on you. And my compassion is limited.”

If it was only hurting themselves, I wouldn’t care at all. But I have kids who are too young to be vaccinated. So I struggle to understand that point of view. It’s not seen as, “no thanks, I don’t care to do this.” It’s saying, “fuck you, my convenience is more important than any this else.”
