Could we lose Revis after the season if we don't re-sign him now?

If the Jets let him goto RFA and then they don't match it, I'm pretty sure Tanny would be sniped dead in the streets immediatly after the press release is out.

I find it hard to believe that the NFL would veto an agreed upon deal between player and agent, but I doubt it is going to matter.

I fully expect this will be completely taken care of by August 10.

This is nothing but unfounded speculation by fan favorite Mike Florio. Sounds like bullshit to me.

Cmon Murrell...at least Click on the link and find out it's Florio.

There is no escape for Revis. The buyback provision is what prevents the Jets from using the Franchise tag on him.

If the buy back is nullified, then by extension so is the Tag exclusion.

But there is no way in hell the NFL will rule retroactively on a contract.

They approved with the foreknowledge of this eventuality.

    Florio is a F*ng moron.

No buy back no tag exclusion....In fact, if the NFL were to be forced to rule on this, the lack of the buy back would force them to void the void option.

Besides the fact that the 30% is based on the final capped year which would be last year not the uncapped year.
With his roster bonus he made $6.22M.

Florio really coudn't be more worthless to the game of football. Wish some real writers would create some more sites like PFT because I'm such a junkie for football news it's hard to stay away.

Yeah but usually rules like the 30% rule aren't retroactive... I mean, I think there are many contracts in the NFL where base salary fluctuate more than 30% from year to year...

I don't know about that. I'm sure that there are a few or more closet homosexual players in the league that would trade an anonymous quote or 2 for a suckjob from little Mike. That's got to improve morale.

The Commish will have to stop banging Jane Skinflute long enough to put an end to those shenanigans.
