Could this be our way to get rid of Schotty (Marty interviewing w/ Bucs)

So Chris Mortensen is reporting that the Bucs will be interviewing Marty Schottenheimer. If he gets that job, I'd have a hard time believing he wouldn't want to bring Brian with him as his OC. Sort of like what Mike Shanahan did with Kyle Shanahan poaching him from the Texans.

This gives us that want Shotty gone some extra hope.

It wouldn't take a leap of logic to see this happening. Marty wanted to force Kurt Schotty on AJ Smith as his OC in San Diego, I can see the Jets using it as a way of shuffling Brian out without slapping him in the face.

Although the ultimate suck would be seeing his offense work with Josh Freeman.

The more I look at this whole Schotty dilemma, it really is sad how it is playing out. It is apparent that he is not the guy for the job, yet we as fans have to suffer and pray that they make the RIGHT move in letting him go. Any other organization would have been over and done with it after the last game. Rex has to learn to man up and be the HC, not a best friend. It really is amazing how many people, sports writers, espn analysts, etc. all believe he needs to go, yet here we are hoping and praying that our organization makes a move. Hoping that his father gets a gig or that he himself gets another job somewhere. It really is sad.

Would I be wrong that it's very possible that Schotty wouldn't want to coach under his dad right now? As bad as we say he is, he's been getting fairly consistent hype as one of the next coordinators to make the head coaching jump over the last few years. Unless he gets fired, I feel like taking a job alongside/underneath his dad would be a step down.

He will not be back. Trust me. They are letting him try to find a job, talking him up so he gets another job, so they can get out of the extension they owe him and get out of the situation without firing him. Period. If he doesn't find another job, he will be let go. They are going to try everything they can to make sure they have no blood on their hands here. Ryan has a blind spot for his assistants (quite often to his detriment, or the team's, it seems). Things were said about him when he was one, and he feels it kept him from getting an HC job, so he is not going to do that to Schottenheimer.

It's math. Schotty and Holmes clearly do not get along. There are clearly issues. One has to go. Holmes counts millions towards the cap if cut, which is prohibitive in terms of fixing the team. Schotty is owed 3.2 million, and firing him and paying that does nothing to the cap, or ability to build the team.

Marty wouldn't be around for long, he'd probably hand the keys to Brian after 2 seasons.

I immediately thought this when I heard of Marty interviewing for the Bucs job. Damn shame when you have to pray a guy gets another job just because your FO and Head Coach are too blind and chicken shit to pull the trigger on an obvious failure.
