I don't know how hard they'd be able to pursue him while also trying to find a veteran signal caller. That would be 2 monster contracts.
It sounds like a Jets move. Defense plays well. Offense stinks. Let's go sign a high-quality linebacker to fix the Jet's woes!
Well it's the offseason and we Jets fans SHOULD desire any available player that would make us better. We will await Bob Wagner's darkness retreat, and see what happens after that
Rumor has it he will don white pajamas and enter a house with all white walls, floors, ceilings and furniture in which the bright white lights never go off for three days. That's the way to see the light.
Matt Judon recruiting him to the Patriots via social media. Definitely don't want to see him land there......
I like Bobby Wagner and wouldn't mind if he could be signed for a reasonable contract. However, I would rather they concentrate on re-signing Bryce Huff. I think he is on the cusp of becoming a top pass rusher and has greater upside.
With Quincy Williams looking for a payday it wouldn’t hurt to chat with Wagner. Would much rather just keep Quincy for less but Wagner is an upgrade and I don’t think Quincy is someone worth overpaying for. A very Foley Fatukasi situation.
There are only two types of team that would sign Bobby Wagner, who will be 33 in June, to a big deal. 1. A team that is one great linebacker away from a championship and is willing to take the chance that he steps down. 2. The Jets.
Overpay for an aging, past his prime, lost a step HOF player? Sounds very Jets-like. PASS. We need young, speedy, athletic backers.
I want as many great players as possible on the Jets…. But realistically Wagner is a west coast guy; if Bobby wants to win and salary doesn’t matter, he’s going to SF. If he wants another big payday, the Jets aren’t a good fit. If he wants neither he’ll go back to Seattle.
Nothing, and I mean nothing, Joe Douglas has done in his 3 full off seasons indicates that Wagner would be a guy they are targeting. The closet example would be signing Khalil to play C in that weird first half off-season he had. And that circumstance was completely different. Stop it with "That's such a Jets move" nonsense. Focus on the current regime. Not the past.
Wagner is as durable as it gets. He has never had a season with less than 100 combined tackles. I dont hate on the idea depending on the price of course
He is pissed at Seattle. Ten years of busting his balls for them and he found out they cut him over twitter. Maybe he can get over that but it was only a year ago and he was really pissed
