If the reports of Cousins signing with Minnesota are true (I hope so) the Vikings saved the Jets from themselves. Cleveland just traded for Tyrod Taylor AND they still own the #1 overall pick in one of the deepest QB drafts ever. Washington traded for Alex Smith and gave him a ton of money in a new deal. San Francisco traded for then paid Garoppolo. And look at that Indianapolis is sittin' pretty at #3 in prime position to get one of the top QBs in the draft. Ladies & gentlemen you know where I'm going with this. If the Colts are willing to trade Andrew Luck there ain't gonna be much competition for him. I think at this point the Jets main competition would be f'n Buffalo armed with two #1 picks and I believe two third rounders in 2018. But with high picks and all this cap space there is no excuse for the Jets to not get Andrew Luck. Bring him home baby!!!!!
Indianapolis Colts star Andrew Luck may like hanging out in New York -- but don't expect the elite quarterback to ever play here. Spies spotted Luck hanging out recently at Montauk's Surf Lodge with his NFL pal Jonathan Martin -- who made headlines in 2013 when he accused his Miami Dolphins teammates of bullying. The duo were "drinking Heinekens" and "shooting the breeze about football" with a die-hard Jets fan at the bar, we're told. When the Gang Green backer told Luck, "I wish you were the quarterback of the Jets," Luck leaned in and whispered, "[Bleep] that, man."
Buffalo has been a thorn on the Jets side for a while. Most recently when they blocked the Jets from drafting Tavon Austin by allowing St. Louis to trade into their spot one spot ahead of us. It turned out they did the Jets a favor because Austin turned out to be nothing more than a overpaid JAG. Then of course when they blocked the Jets from getting into the playoffs possible costing us a Super Bowl in 2015. This is one the Jets cannot MUST NOT lose to Buffalo.
The Colts destroyed their team to draft Andrew Luck and he has been on the field for 0 games the past two seasons. I know their owner is a cokehead, but there are some serious red flags there, dude. Let the dumbass Bills navigate those waters, they'll sink like usual.
That was a Blessing in disguise... Austin is out @ LA if the Jets want him they can have him for a song & dance. SB in 2015???... Whatever it is you've been smoking I'd leave it alone. :/
How many times do people have to respond with “that’s a dogshit idea” in regards to Luck for you to realize it’s a dogshit idea?
What you said about blessing in disguise is 100% accurate but I would appreciate if you refrain from personal attacks like these.
There is too much talent at QB at the top of this draft to part with draft picks for a guy who can't stay healthy. If Luck can be had for a third round pick or less, then I'd see why the Jets would make a move like that. I can't imagine the Colts giving him up for a song. Doesn't seem realistic.
More like the storm clouds forming for the Jets. I don't want Cousins either at the numbers the press is throwing round but if they don't sign him it will most likely be the second round before they can draft another QB and here we go again. Trading up will probably be impossible without mortgaging the future for a QB who may not make it.
I wouldn't say he's trash, but he's way overrated. The number of guys here who swoon over him is crazy, like he's the gold standard of QBs. If I had a dollar for every time someone here posted, "No one in this draft is an Andre Luck" I would be able to finally retire. The only QB I can remember in recent history who was dubbed "Can't Miss" by everyone is P. Manning, and that still remains the standard. And no one in this class is P. Manning. But I believe Rosen and Mayfield, and maybe Darnold, are all at least as good as Luck and likely better.
I don't know, I always liked Luck but in my opinion he got destroyed in Indy simply because they did not wrap a supporting cast around him. I still like him, but he might be damaged goods. So if they come calling wanting a slew of picks I would probably lean and whisper,"F..., that, man"
Luck is damned good, but there is no indication he can even throw a ball at this point. What would the trade value been for 2015 Peyton Manning?
