I am listening to NFL Radio on Sirius and they are reporting on rumours that Brooks will sign with the Pats today.

plus he's a 4-3 middle LB.....he'll be as effective as Jon Vilma was in the 3-4.

I heard that he's been training in MMA, but he was inactive last Sunday.

Something about not being able to make up his mind whether or not dogs should be driving drunk and eating starcaps.

    Personally, I think he's a bust.

I think Brooks could make some impact, he's still a very smart player... I'd rather him not be there if I had a choice.

He didn't go through camps and he's fresh. I would be worried about him , no matter what position he was filling. Belichek like Parcells can find the right scheme for him to fit into. It makes a big difference!

Brooks is not a great fit for New England. He is a 4-3 middle linebacker in a cover 2 scheme. The responsibilities are different in both run support and in pass defense from the 4-3 that NE sometimes runs. Brooks would be much better in Chicago.

No news yet but if you google it, it's being discussed on other boards, too.

I don't see him dominating, but sure he could be a good player, and he could make the other players on that team better at the mental aspect.

He may be staying in shape but wouldn't be up to game speed.
If they did pick him up as it would be for depth and I don't think he would see that much playing time.

Cut by the Bucs and no one else has picked him up. He may have something left in the tank but the carb is clogged and tread on the tires is kind of thin.

Balancing work and football enthusiasm. Something's got to give.
