Love the guy... he's the "new" Mayock in terms of quality of analysis and always goes in depth with his explanations. A really good read.

    PS Jets - Cooper & J. Jones... I'd love it :)

PPS We'd have some really good options if we traded down... especially considering some team may then want t trade back up in the 1st rd to get their QB of the future.

No guard in the 1st round...too many other needs.

My first option is to trade down if possible. I would be happy taking these two guys. Fills two needs and they are two of the best players in the draft

I like that Cosell didn't just regurgitate every other mock draft from the past 4 months. His analysis of both Cooper and Jones got me fired up. I'm not too excited about taking a G at #9, but you gotta like this commentary:

    9. New York Jets: The pick here is my number one guard in the draft, North Carolina's Jonathan Cooper. As I mentioned with Floyd, Cooper was also one of my favorite players to evaluate. He was as purely athletic as any guard I can remember studying. He had remarkably light feet for a 310-pound man, with such ease of movement. As a puller in the run game, he had extraordinary balance and body control. You know what I liked the most: he was a tenacious competitor, with a nasty streak. He looked to initiate contact whenever possible. He was fun to watch, the kind of player that will be a tempo setter for an offensive line. Everybody is focusing on defense with the Jets, but their offense is worse than poor, and in my mock, Cooper is the best player available.

    13. New York Jets: My pick is Georgia OLB Jarvis Jones. I believe that Jones is the most ready of all the potential 3-4 outside linebackers in this draft. Ignore the 40 yard dash time. Put on the tape. Jones is a fluid athlete with sudden movement and quick change of direction. He showed body flexibility as a pass rusher, with excellent closing speed. I also liked his ability to transition from speed to power as a pass rusher. He got underneath the pads of bigger OL, and drove them back into the quarterback. You know who he reminded me of at times: Terrell Suggs, another player who ran a supposedly slow 40 when he came out of Arizona State. Remember Rex Ryan was in Baltimore with for the first six years of Suggs’ career.

I love this, but I just don't like reading mocks anymore that have us picking at both 9 and 13.

It's almost a guarantee Idzik will be trading down, which changes the entire view of the first round.

But, if we were to pick at 9 and 13, then I would LOVE this

It's what I like about Cossell... one can agree or disagree, but he does articulate his points really well.

Interesting... Fisher before Joeckel, Hayden before Milliner, Cooper before Warmack, Ogletree at 11, Sheldon Richardson over Star, no Qbs (not too much of a stretch), Mingo at 8! Looking pretty different from 90% of Mocks

Been saying for awhile I want Jones and either Warmack or Cooper so I'd be more than happy with this result.

I do think we trade down though so as Falco said it's kind of a moot point. Although, to be honest, all mock drafts are kind of an exercise in futility. They are fun though.

I want Eifert and Austin... For every reason he named, I think they should be around at our respective picks.

I could be okay with this draft. Certainly not flashy, but two instant starters on both sides of the ball.

He gets originality points, but he's way off. Not a chance Milliner lasts to 17.

If Jones is there at 9, I think the Jets will pounce on him....he may be gone at 13...he sounds a lot like what Rex is looking for in an OLB.

SIGN ME UP for cooper and jones. granted i keep flipping back and forth but i do think a guard/center like cooper would give the OL an instant upgrade.

i love warmack as well but the ability of cooper to snap the ball may come in handy - ya just never know with injuries and such.

i do agree with jones u ignore the 40 time and watch the kid play. in rex's defense we dont need the fastest 40 guy, the strongest edge guy - the scheme will maximize the players football talent and jones has plenty of that.

at least we go 1 off pick and 1 def pick in the first. gotta address both sides of the ball.
