That sucks. Another more public example of someone who got heart problems after COVID is Eduardo Rodriguez the Red Sox pitcher.

Does he really have no one to tell him that this theory is beyond stupid and him constantly saying it for the last month makes him look like a complete moron?

I don’t think he does. Anyone who has the guts to tell Trump he’s wrong either gets fired or is forced to resign

Lmao I said this the other day to my wife.

What the fuck does his argument even mean? I still don't get it. You don't cause cases because of a test. You simply find out if they're there with a test.

It goes back to my anology on another thread:

If you don't test for cancer, then no one has cancer. Trump solved the cure for cancer

What it means is that the best (and really only) way to determine how a country (or state, or municipality) is handling the virus is to look at total deaths per capita. The media is intentionally trying make it appear that the United States (in other words, Trump) is not handling the coronavirus as well as any other countries ... so it constantly refers to # of cases in its reporting. They do this because they know that the United States has performed approximately 59 million tests - which is twice as many as any other country on the planet, except China (whom nobody believes their reported statistics on anything). If you were testing every single civilian, in every single country, on the same day ... then you could get a pretty accurate count of how many Covid-positive people are in a particular country. However, nobody (no country) is testing every single civilian, so if you take the third most populous country in the world (the United States) and it is testing twice as much as the next closest country (which happens to be Russia - 59 million tests to 29 million tests), then of course it's going to have the most positive test results in the world. It's obvious to anyone why this is the dumbest possible way to assess how the United States is handling the virus in comparison to other countries.

I'll put it another way. Let's say you had six high schools in the same town ...

School A has 3,310 students, has tested 592 of them, and 47 tested positive for Covid at some point since March.
School B has 13,810 students, has tested 198 of them, and 18 tested positive.
School C has 1,289 students, has tested 100 of them, and and 4 tested positive.
School D has 679 students, has tested 163 of them, and 3 tested positive.
School E has 653 students, has tested 30 of them, and 2 tested positive.
School F has 378 students, has tested 41 of them, and 1 tested positive.

So who's doing the best? Clearly School A (the United States) has the most positive cases, but it has also tested over 10x more people than some of the other schools. And if School B (India) had performed the same percentage of tests on its population that School A did, it would have way, way more known positive cases. And really it's all an apples-to-oranges comparison because who knows if one particular school is testing a disproportionate number of "likely to be positive" people or a disproportionate number of "likely to be negative" people than the other schools (BTW, Schools C through F are Mexico, UK, France and Canada). This is what Trump means when he says if the United States wasn't testing so many people, we wouldn't have most number of cases. And he's 100% correct and the media (and Democrats) know it, which is why they continue to use the "America has the most cases which means we're doing the worst on handling the Coronavirus" talking point - they know it completely confuses the general public (see the last couple posts in this thread).

Now ... what would be a better way of measuring the United States' response compared to other countries? Total deaths per capita. It's the hardest number to fake or fiddle with (although it's still possible - an example would be the guy who dies in an automobile accident, tests positive for coronavirus during the autopsy, and gets counted as an official Covid death ... but I digress). So how is the United States performing in this statistic?

United States has had 477 deaths per 1 million people.
India has had 27 (their first responders have been taking hydroxychloriquine as a prophylactic, btw) .
    Mexico has had 368.
    UK has had 680.
    France has had 464.
    Canada has had 237.
    Spain has had 608.
    Italy has had 581.
    Germany has had 110.

But let's break it down even further ...

New Jersey has had 1,791 deaths per 1 million.
    New York has had 1,685.
    Remaining USA has had 361.

In other words, if you remove the two states (NY and NJ) whose leadership (Cuomo, Murphy and DeBlasio) are the worst in the country, if not the world ... the United States is performing significantly better than just about every European nation and similar to the two nations that border us. Now, if you want to blame Trump because DeBlasio still hasn't shut down the subway (and waited a month before he cleaned it) and because Cuomo killed off his nursing home population and because Murphy didn't shut down the bridges and tunnels? You can if you choose to, but it's not exactly fair ... unless your argument is that Cuomo and Murphy did exactly what Trump asked them to do (*eye roll*).

You will never, ever hear this type of analysis in the news media. This is because their goal is not to accurately present the facts to the public and analyze them to the best of their abilities; their goal is to win an election. And saying, "You know, the United States is doing just about as well as everyone else," doesn't win elections. "The United States has the most cases and is handling the virus worse than any other country and it's all Trump's fault," wins elections ... and that is why it is a steady drumbeat in the news.

Yes, the liberal mantra: "It's not that bad now, but it's going to be really bad soon and it's all your fault."

We've been hearing it for months as the liberals of the country have prayed (secular prayer) one of the southern states would eventually have as many dead people as NY. It turned out to be NJ, but that wasn't south (and red) enough. It's never going to happen because NY and NJ are uniquely incompetent.

Theres a few posters here who have completely fallen for the "liberals will destroy your way of life" mantra.

I feel bad for them and living in that type of fear. Being from a very red area growing up, it's always been there... trump just made it more acceptable and made them believe democrats actually wany Republicans dead... divide and conquer.

If he thinks democrats are hoping death upon southern states, where do you think his mind was when the Northeast was getting hammered by covid? I doubt he was sending "thoughts and prayers."

The first post isn't twisted, it's just a shoddy interpretation of the data. The second post about liberals praying for people to die is twisted.

When covid started i enjoyed your posts... but now you seemed to take a turn to poor attempts of trolling to people who aren't conservative.

You also are a secret trump vote.. be a man and own it. Only time i question you being genuine is when you deny you want trump in office more than the other realistic option.
