Hey Jets fans, Greetings from San Antonio. I wanted to get some hard core Jets fans opinion of TE Corey Lamkin. He was signed to the practice squad last year, but was moved to the Jets roster in January. http://www.thejournalnews.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20051111/SPORTS01/511110380/1045 I am a friend of his family's and I am really hoping he can make some noise for y'all...errr...youse guys this summer. Let me know what you think of his chances.
Don't know anything about him really. Sounds like he has potential. Good luck to him and his family. As far as chances... Doug Jolley currently is our starter. Joel Dresseen is our backup, so I would put him 3rd on the depth chart because Dearth is useless at TE.
maybe if we dont re-sign baker and pass on drafting one through the whole draft...and then he would have to make some noise in preseason
Cool, I think I remeber from last year he is our experimant with a basketball player turned TE, well good luck to him and hopefully he can turn something from his oppurtunity
He has tremendous leaping ability. He was an ?elbows above the rim? type basketball player at 6?6?. He routinely held his own on the boards against guys much bigger than him. He has been working out like a mother and is probably about 10 lbs heavier than listed on the current charts. He is a solid character guy with a tremendous work ethic.
how do youthink his speed project in the nfl also how are his hands can he catch? 6'6 250 pounds thats a huge target.
Good luck to him. I think that if Baker isn't back he has a decent shot to stick around if he shows something in the pre-season. I also think Jolley might not make the squad unless he learns how to block and not drop passes.
He didn't get to play at all for the Jets, didn't make the roster by the end of the season. May compete for a roster spot if Baker isn't re-signed, although the Jets are more likely to go the route of a draft (Jolley, Dreeseen, Rookie).
So this is the guy when a reporter asked Herm about him...Herm replies... "He's a project." No friggin way Herm, no way...
I didn't see posted here that he was recommended to the Jets by former TE coach Phil Petty (who runs some type of gym down in Texas). Apparently, Petty thought he had some good potential. Time will tell, I guess.
