Looked like a bust so far to be honest for what he was paid to be. Missed a bunch of games, a lot of dropped balls, including yesterday. I really hope to see a much improved Davis next year.

Now let's see if it's next man up or if Woody makes a phone call to Hymie for a WR trade. I'm almost certain that's what happened after Lawson and Wilson's injuries.

I would imagine that right about now Woody and Chris are in their Jets office, socked feet up on the rich mahogany, daydreaming about how they can help the team through these troubled times.

Fans surely won't want to buy tickets without a #1 WR, and that will affect cash flow. Must keep a fresh supply of purebred Moroccan whipping boys in the penthouse. Woody decides that the Jets don't really need ALL of those draft picks, do they?

Woody dials Hymie on speaker and says, "Hymie, Chris and I think we will trade for a wide receiver. One of the players that are #1 at receiving. Those ones are good. Can we do it this week?"

"I'll see what I can do, Mr. Johnson. "

"Don't see what you can do, Hymie, do what you can do."

    "Yes Mr. Johnson."

    Hymie dials Joe Douglas.

    "Hi Joe, this is Hymie."

"Hey Hymie. Did you find who put porta potties all over your lawn yet?"

"Hehe, uh no, I sure haven't. Not sure why anyone would want to do something so bizarre. Anyway, Joe, I just got off the line with Woody and he and Chris are very interested in, uh, maybe the team trading for a #1 receiver? This week?"

"Hymie, we have depth at receiver, and we're rebuilding. We can't keep trading picks every time we have an injury."

"Hey uh, Joe, I know things are tough all around in this social climate and with the economy the way it is, I just want to say that the boys upstairs really appreciate the job you're doing and thanks for helping us out by trading for a #1 receiver Joe, Woodywillbesopleasedokaybye-" *click*

    "Fuck."

That's what I imagine Hymie's job is, in addition to other important things like uniform unveilings.

Might be the best thing as it will open more playing time for Cole and Mims. I am not sure if Mims will take advantage but he needs all the reps he can get and Cole is a good receiver who I hope we bring back next tear.

Golden opportunity for mims. We should get Cole back from covid this week too. Davis will be missed but there should be enough to fill in some of th gap. Plus more targets for wr1 Moore

A high priced Jets free agent signing out for the season with injury - how shocking

Sucks that 3 of the 4 highest paid Jets (based on average salary) are free agents that have missed significant playing time (if not entire seasons) since we signed them

Spoiler alert. He's not getting cut.

    Davis is a solid #2. He's not a #1.

I know he isn't getting cut - I am just pointing out that even as disappointing as he has been its too expensive to cut ties - he is effectively guaranteed to be on the team until 2024

I wonder which the Jets are worse at - drafting or free agency?

Too bad, Davis wasn’t as bad as made out to be on here. Not #1 but he did make some good catches, had a few good games. injuries were his biggest issue. He didn’t play better or worse that he did with Tenn. couple of dad drops but made a few tough catches that made up for it. We had the WORST WR room in NFL, he brought some legitimacy to the room.
