On any other team he's in a 3-4.

    On the Jets he's in a 3-3-5 or a 3-2-6 or a 2-3-6 more often.

Look at the snap counts each week. The formations above count Mo Wilkerson, David Harris, DeMario Davis and Quinton Coples in almost all the time. Sheldon Richardson and Calvin Pace join the party a lot.

Nobody runs the front 7 (front 6) the way the Jets do and nobody gets as much out of each piece as Rex and Dennis Thurman do for the Jets.

Yeah it's one hell of an achievement. People do get double digit sacks in the 3-4 but it's almost always outta the OLB position, but a 3-4 end? Def almost unheard of.

Uncanny ability to play DE or DT in the 43. Can push the pocket in the 34. His technique is great, he is Karl Dunbars best product. We have to lock him up long term.

The man is a legit beast and should be for a long time wearing the green and white.

Add in the talent and potential of Richardson, Coples and Harrison and this group could go down as one of the most dominating in Jets history when its all said and done. .....and Im sure they will help us win alot of games as well.

Calvin Pace has a good shot at double digit sacks as well. Has 7 right now.

    We play the
Dolphins twice (1st most sacks given up in the league)
Browns (2nd most sacks in the league)
Raiders (Tied for 3rd most sacks in the league)
    Panthers (14th most sacks)

We can finish with a ton of sacks. I'm excited what our front 7 can do.

Very similar impact to what Klecko brought. Much bigger dude though. Klecko was a great player but when he was maxed out he was average sized for a DT and small for a NT. Big for a 4-3 DE though. Everything Klecko got was because he had an amazing motor and superior strength and leverage for his size.

Wilkerson is a disruptive 315 pound guy with the mobility of a 285 pound guy.

Guy is a monster. It sucks that he will be the only one of that front 3 in the pro bowl, because Harrison and Richardson don't have the glamor stats. Harrison playing better than any NT in the league right now.

The man is an absolute beast and a very humble being. DPOY, and its not even a discussion.

yeah, but that's relative...... player in general are bigger as a whole, so I'd say that balances out. either way, I hope they lock him up and he keeps up his level of play :jets:

Yeah players are bigger these days but this isn't a 60's vs 00's comparison it's an 80's vs 00's and lots of football players were using PED's in the 80's. They just didn't get caught because the NFL wasn't looking for it in a big way yet.

Klecko played at 265 to 280-ish in his day. He was an amazing NT for that weight mainly because he was just too quick and had too much leverage for the centers and guards too handle. I remember seeing Dwight Stephenson, the great Fin center, interviewed and he said Klecko was a real handful, when he could get his hands on him. That pretty much sums up the kind of player Klecko was.

Wilkerson plays at the physical plant of a strong 3T defensive tackle but he plays everywhere on the line and he's just as effective wherever he plays. That's the Klecko plan except Klecko played at up to 50 pounds lighter than Wilk.

and just think this success and increase in sacks comes as the the jets are still without a legit pro bowl caliber speed rusher on the outside.

now i know they dont grow on trees but could u imagine.

To say he is DPOY not even a discussion is ridiculous.

Mo Wilk could be named it depending on what transpires the next 5 games and he could just as easily not even be in the top 3.

Revis was more of a not even discussion candidate in 2009 than Mo Wilk is this year--- and he did not win.

The Jets are three strong on the rush up the middle. That's better than having an outside rusher because you can't consistently account for 3 guys in a row who can all push the pocket.

Those 3 guys are giving Calvin Pace a great trophy year to go out on because he's getting the one-on-one matchup against a back or TE a lot of the time. The tackles are often helping out against Mo or Sheldon.

If there's one thing that's looking bright for the Jets going forward, it's the D-line.

Wilkerson, Harrison an Richardson will be reeking havoc, for years to come, hopefully Coples pans out, not real big on him though, maybe next year he'll step up his game.
