14 teams? I'm confused. Let me see if I can follow the link. I don't belong to twitter and sometimes I see nothing. Nevermind. I get it.
Will there be a 2020 NFL Season?? If so , there are 6 WC slots available for Gase to prove he really can coach um up
Are we sure about this? I admit I don't follow ESPN nowadays but is this offically anounced by NFL? I like 7 play off teams. I wish they made the season 2+18 instead of 3+17.
I read it on NFL.com yesterday. It doesn't look like it's there anymore. I personally like the current setup, where the top two teams in each conference get a bye. Having only the #1 seed have a bye, in my opinion, gives them too much advantage. Having two teams get a bye balances things out a bit more. Plus, I think there needs to be a greater prize for finishing 2nd in the conference than just playing the 7th seed in the Wild Card.
On the plus side like WC weekend you would get 6 games 2-7, 3-6, 4-5 both in the AFC/NFC. You get a game at 1:00, 4;00 and 8:00. But I don't like the fact that it diminishes the regular season. Get used to seeing 8-8 or 7-9 teams getting in or 8-9 or 7-10 when it goes to a 17 game season.
I get this thought process, but you could also argue that it makes it more exciting. The odds are high that all 7 spots won' t be locked up by Week 17 (or 18 next year). Could make the final weeks even more entertaining. Also the fight for the #1 seed is more exciting, because if you don't get it, you are playing Wild Card Weekend.
We're not that far away from 16 teams either. That's what they wanted but they decided this was an ok stepping stone for now to ease the players into it. No reason to ruin the best postseason in sports. But here we are.
Not true. Run it back to 1990 and it’s like 2 teams that would have made it with a record 500 or below.
