I watched the Raiders come out and pummel the Bills in Buffalo during the first half, i was scouting for the jets-lol, anyway, it was good to see them let that game get away, it shows me they're still not "there" yet, and even though they are tough at home, I think the jets take them down next week.

Jason Campbell does not strike fear in me. Their running game is what makes their passing game click. I expect us to see some screens and draws on obvious passing downs to try and "catch us" blitzing. Other than that, I am really not that concerned; but it is the NFL and THOR wont be out there.

There are a few problems this week that could really hurt us...

    1. Looking ahead to Baltimore and the Pats the next 2 weeks. Do not underestimate this.

    2. The cross-country flight. The Jets always seem to struggle when they head out west.

    3. Nick Mangold probably being out, and having Baxter attempt to block Richard Seymour. Could get ugly.

On the bright side, Darren McFadden is pretty much their entire offense, so obviously the Jets will load up to try and stop him. They're completely 1-dimensional. Their receivers are all hurt, and aren't that good even when healthy. Jason Campbell is average, and they aren't very good at protecting him up front.

On the other side of the ball, the Raiders do have a good pass rush, but they can definitely be run on. Just look what Fred Jackson did to them this week. Also, without Asomugha their secondary is pretty bad. The Jets should definitely win, but this will not be an easy game.

i think this team may have learned not look past any team anymore, especially after all the last minute or ot wins last year. i also think having Dallas bring it on opening night and pull it out still helps alot too.

the raiders have a couple of small receivers with good hands and speed but they are small. mc Fadden is their number one, and once they are inside the five it goes to bush,
stop Mc fadden and they should be o.k., all road games are tough, but i have a good feeling on this game, they're due for a good game out there. maybe i'll fly up and get stabbed for my Jets.

Guy was the talk of Preseason and is now an obvious TALENT in the regular season...

I agree absolutly, we can not afford to "look" past any opponents. We play Oakland next week. I feel because of our OL problems, look for Sanchez to hand of to the RB and we may see a whole lot of LT, I expect it.Look out for Mike Rumpt

The one thing about the cross country flight that might not be as bad is that they haven't been on a plane since the first pre-season game, while Oakland just traveled to Buffalo and back.

Raider's D-Line is better than Jags & they'll game-plan knowing Nick Mangold is out. Don't see the Raiders rolling over like the Jags.

The strength of the raider team is their defense, specifically the Dline where they have depth and guys who can get after the QB. Its a really bad match up for us and with Mangold out it makes it even worse. Hopefully we can get up early to take the crowd out of the game (its the home opener so Im sure it will be loud) and establish the running game, bc as good as the Oakland dline is they are still not very good against the run. Its going to be a tough game, but I feel confident we can get it done.

i think the coaches have instilled enough in this team not look past anyone.
They squeaked by detroit, Denver, Houston , cleveland , etc. last year,
i think they come out hungry. they need this more than ever all because the schedule gets very difficult after this.

i dont think the jets are underestimating the raiders at all. i expect the jets to take them serious. if we can contain mcfadden then we have a great chance to win. the offense just needs to score as often as possible and not be so stagnant.

This team doesn't look past anyone. That's something they've done a good job of with Rex as the HC.

And the last time the Jets went out west to Oakland they won 38-0. A Rex Ryan team can play anywhere.

If we can't beat the Oakland Raiders, pretty clear that it's time to end the Rex Ryan Experiment.
