Im a little nervous going into the offseason with all the questions surrounding the culture of the locker room. The big pull in the past couple of seasons has been the opportunity to compete on a team coached by the ultimate players coach, in an awesome environment, on a team on the verge. With the way our season ended I dont know if thats true anymore. I know money speaks louder than anything, but i am not so sure about what our cap flexibility is. But in any case, im thinking, for example, we need a steady veteran at OL. If im a lineman not expecting to make a killing and Im reading about the Jets right now, im definitely thinking, "i dont need this shit right now" ill sign somewhere else for QB who can execute good playcalling in a good locker room... all three things that we lack at the moment... so, we'll see

What's up with the cap situation? I posted this another board but I will post here too.

So let me get this straight...assuming we roll with the 51 man roster of scrubs on the Jets cap site, and then release Hunter and Smith, it puts our cap number at 116,723,077+1,700,000+ of dead money so $118,465,829.

Then we add in Pouha (assuming he even wants to come back) at the Jets cap guys estimate of 3.75 million we come to 122,215,829. Let's add in a salary of 400,000 just to round out the top 51. Total is now 122,615,829 of 125,000,000 (not counting the 8 million rollover). So we have almost eleven million dollars to draft, sign free agents and round out the roster and replace the almost non-existent salaries of Taylor Boggs, Michael Campbell, John Griffin, Dennis Landolt, Julian Posey, Logan Payne, TJ Conley, Tracy Wilson, Dedrick epps, Eron Riley, Dexter Jackson, Matt Kroul, Ricky Sapp etc.
