POSTED 9:58 p.m. EDT, March 17, 2007 COLTS STIFFING SCOUTS There's an uproar in league circles regarding the playoff share that the Indianapolis Colts supposedly have given to their scouts. Per a league source, scouts of a team typically are paid an extra amount equivalent to 25-30 percent of the playoff share paid to each team. The source tells us that, of the $129,500 playoff share paid to Colts players, the team's scouts got only $15,000. That works out to roughly 11.5 percent. "Everybody is pissed off about it," said the source. Though there's no obligation for the Colts to make any extra payment to their scouts, it's strange (to say the least) that the franchise would make such a dramatic departure from league precedent. Especially since the Colts' scouts have had a lot to do with the success of the franchise. Indeed, scouts generally are regarded as the "foot soldiers" So do the right thing, Napolian -- cut your scouts a bigger check.

Okay. But tell me why, then, when I look at ALL the other Jets boards, I don't find the same article posted and time stamped before your post here? Hmm? If you can give me the link, I'll correct myself. More likely that you pulled it off Patsfans.com, when there is an identically titled thread. And, there's nothing particularly wrong with that, except that the content of your posting and your IP address tell your story pretty clearly. And, as I said before, we like other teams posting here. I post on several other boards, and I'm a member of a dozen or more. What I don't do, is pretend to be something I'm not. By the by, the better story would have been to say that you lifted it off the original source - profootballtalk.com. Little late for revising a cover story, though.
And I couldn't agree more. Beyond which, lest we forget, Peyton Manning has a whole bunch of NY Jets fans that would like to carve him up for staying his senior year.

You'll start caring, if you want to keep posting here. I think you're a Patriots fan masquerading as a Jets fan. I've made that fairly clear. I could arrange for a little quiz - which I suspect you'd fail miserably - or, I can see if your posting trend ever swings toward Jets topics. I'd prefer to see you morph into a normal Jets poster, if that's the role you wish to play.

I have no idea who this Jetman poster is, but I dont see how he is catching all this shit for posting a article with a link about the Colts... He didnt post about the Jets or the Pats and he even put it in the NFL forum! Maybe if I saw some of the things he said then maybe I would feel differently, but to me it looked like SundayJack barking up another tree when it wasn't necessary. All I see is a legit post, with a legit link, in the right forum. No attacks and certainly no profanity. This kinda of stuff bothers me.

I think the unnecessary posting of unrelated message board rules constitutes spamming. Also, you can't say pro-Patriots things on a Jets message board and pretend to be a Jets fan. It does not work that way. If you are a Jets fan, you hate the Patriots. You can begrudgingly say that they made a good move but you can't praise them and congratulate them for making good moves. Because that makes you a Pats fan and, therefore, a liar. Or, best case scenario, you like the Jets and the Patriots, which means you are an idiot.
