Obviously referring to the offense we have now, the weapons he's got around him. I'd agree with Colon, although I'm not sure if it's too smart to put all this pressure on him now. There's no reason to. Let's just hope he responds the right way. http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2015/06/jets_willie_colon_says_geno_smith_was_never_ready.html
He can certainly crash it. I wouldn't call this roster a "porsche" in comparison to the rest of the league and Colon would be wise to keep his mouth shut sometimes.
"He was never ready to be the starting quarterback of the New York Jets." LOL - he still isn't. I can't stand Colon.
Its simple and thank god the quarterback we drafted this year hopefully wont have to deal with it. The jets management team threw Geno to the Wolves. There was no time for him to develop under anyone. Look at Rodgers, he watched Favre for 5 years (dare i say Brady with Bledsoe). With that being said it really wouldn't have done Geno much good to watch Mark for a few years because he was underdeveloped too. I hate our quarterback situation but unfortunately I am hoping that Geno wins the position and Petty has some time to work with Fitz without any of the drama that has come along with the QB position for the Jets in the past 8 years. First post BTW... die hard PA jets fan. GO JETS!
Geno now has another reliable (or i hope) target in Marshall even though the OL didnt improve much. Hopefully he gets some time and we can all celebrate that another draft pick wasnt lost.
Geno wasn't ready in 2013 or 2014. The question is will he be ready in 2015? I doubt it. We will see though. Colon should be quiet though. The Jets have a lot of guards and he was pretty bad last year. I don't know why he assumes he will even make the team.
Whether Colon should have said what he did is an interesting question. But his basic point is right. The Jets built up the O. If Smith can't perform wiht it, he's toast.
I think he was speaking of the entire team and not just the offense, I'm sure Cromartie was and they are both right, with that defense and the additions to offense that they made Smith can't crash it...he just can't be allowed to do that...again.
I don't know if I would say 'Porsche' but I understand the metaphor. We are kind've like we were on '09 with Mark, except Geno has 2 years under his belt already. Don't turn the ball over and we will be in every game.
I'd give you butter for that toast but somehow I imagine you'd like something with more GMOs and MSG.
Colon needs to shut his mouth. Every week it's one dumb comment after another. When he plays a clean penalty free game, he can talk about other people. People often mistake loudness for leadership. This clown is the former. Lead by example then you can talk. For the record I am not a geno supporter .
