Hi all, my first post here. In fact I found this site trying to search for some info that I've been wondering about for a long while... maybe someone here has the info or can help. It has to do with a long ago Jets experience, so I thought I'd post it here.

My question is this: Many years ago, probably around 19 years, give or take a year or two, one of the Jets coaches threw my son a ball, and I can't recall the coaches name. It was such a great gesture, I'd love to know whatever became of the guy. I'm estimating the year - around '89 (plus or minus) because my son was pretty young when I started taking him to games. He's 24 now, so I'm guessing he was around 5 at the time. We used to get to the Meadowlands early and sit along the front railing to watch practice. We were in section 128, and always had the defensive backs practicing in front of our section. The first game my son ever went to, he was standing at the railing yelling things... "Hey, nice catch", "have a good game", etc. to the players, and when the coach whistled for his players to finish practice, he came over to the side and threw a ball up to my kid. My son bobbled the ball and it fell back onto the field, but this coach looked back and saw that and actually jogged back over to us! "Come on kid, you have to catch it if you want to keep it", he says, and tosses the ball back up to my son. He caught it the second time (just barely). I was going to the games on a bus from Queens with a bunch of long time season ticket holders, and they all were shocked that my son comes back to the bus with a football on only his first game ever! We still have the ball, and when I saw it the other day I started wondering about it again.

This coach was a youngish white guy, was the defensive backs coach around 1989, and his first name was Mike. I always wanted to look him up and see what he's doing now, but I forgot his last name. Any help here?
