I have always like the Browns. I'm not sure exactly why. I love their history, I love their fans. They've had some of the worst heartbreaks in Sports history (Red Right 88, The Drive, The Fumble, the Franchise being moved to Baltimore). I must say I am very impressed with their play this year. Derek Anderson has been playing so unbelievably well. Now, what do they do with Quinn? Sounds very similar to the situation the Chargers had a few years ago with Rivers and Brees. So far it looks like Crennell has saved his job too. At least it'll be something of interest to watch for the rest of the season.

And before anyone says "why don't you just root for the Browns if you like them so much" blah blah blah, it has more to do with admiration of the franchise than actually rooting for them.

No no. . . good call. After the Jets, they are the team I'd most like to see win a championship. I think football traditionalists everywhere would agree. Kind of a shame seeing the team within spitting distance of the Hall of Fame sucking so badly, so it's nice to see life. Plus, I think they have great home uniforms - and I know I'm probably in the minority outside of Cleveland.

I actually like the fact they went to old school gray facemasks last season. I think the Browns have one of the very best helmets in the league because they do not have a logo on it.

It is very similar except for the fact Anderson is probably not making much money, relatively speaking. Because Rivers and Brees were both making good money, the Chargers had to move one of them.

Let's see how this season plays out. Right now the Browns look like an 8-8 team and I'm thinking both Wild Card teams are coming out of the AFC South.

Anderson was highly erratic at Oregon State from game-to-game and sometimes drive-to-drive.

Based on the defenses he will face the rest of the season, he should continue to have success except for maybe the Pittsburgh, Baltimore, and Arizona games.

Exactly. And how can you not like Romeo Crennell.

Being so close to the hall they get to see some former Browns that can go down arguably as the greatest to play their position. Ozzie Newsome, Otto Graham and Jim Brown.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who shares this opinion

They also had the greatest break in NFL history in the fanthom roughing the passer call against Gastineau on Kosar in 1987. Back then you were allowed to follow through.

You were allowed 2 steps. It wasn't phantom. Gastineau plowed into Bernie well after the ball was thrown.

Exactly and it was 2 steps. He had done the same thing all year long and it was never called until that play in that game.

The Browns win in OT 33-30. What a great game that was over shadowed by the Indy/NE game

Seahawks copied the Jets. Down three late, comeback to tie it, win the coin toss in overtime, and then BLOW IT.

You forgot to add the part where the Seahawks had a double digit lead at one point.

Romeo Crennel? Jesus Christ himself couldn't coach that team to the playoffs. I think it is a little early to judge Crennel.

A quote I made earler this year...glad to see Romeo has a little something to swagger about now. Go Browns!

The Browns have two wins over the almighty winless teams of St. Louis and Miami.

They also count a win over a Baltimore Ravens team that got crushed on Monday Night Football...

Lets not forget a win over the Cincy Bengals...who have 2 wins total.

Seattle, the team the Steelers beat 21-0 without several starters, is not exactly a strong team either.

    The Browns average giving up
29.1 Points per game (30th in the league)
    441.8 Yards per game (32nd)
    276.6 Passing Yards (32nd)
    135.1 Rushing Yards (27th)

They are a disgrace on defense.

Sorry I just cannot buy into the hype that they are that good of a team this year. Their record is a mirage.

If they somehow come into Pittsburgh this week and put up a convincing victory, then perhaps I'll actually give them some credit. Until then, they still haven't beaten anyone.

PS...I am born to hate the Browns because of who I root for

The Steelers are looking good this year. Hubby hates the Browns too but I think he hates the Ravens more.

All true, but I am just saying that given the talent level of the team, and the expectations this year, they are at least fun to watch and can beat you if you don't play a good game against them.

They already have as many wins as I and most others would have credited them for this year, so that's an accomplishment.

I'm nervous about any Steelers opponent.

The Steelers have the talent to beat New England...and yet we lost to Denver and Arizona.
