If Schlichter had panned out, the whole Elway debacle and Baltimore leaving for Indy might never have happened. Peyton may never have been taken #1 by Indy. Or Baltimore. Who knows ?
I agree. Fields is really impressing me. The only games of his I've seen this season were highlights from the two bad games he had, so I was looking at Wilson and Lance, but this game is making me think Fields is the answer.
There are some interesting head coaching options out there that are tailor made for a kid like Fields. Seeing what Daboll did with Allen and Greg Roman with Lamar Jackson leads me to believe they'd be ideal for his development. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
The way this game is going, I may rather have Fields anyway. I respect the hell out of what he's doing.
Well guys Mr. Fields has taken a big step forward at this point I think you have to like him over Wilson..He’s doing this against better competition than what Wilson sees at BYU
Fields is playing his way back into the #1 conversation. If TLaw continues to be mediocre, I can see teams thinking about Fields @ #1. Time for TLaw to show up..
I'm going to want JoeD to be ABSOLUTELY SURE about Fields or Wilson to take them at #2. Otherwise, take a non-QB. Or trade the pick. If Fields continues to kick-ass, wins tonight, puts up big numbers vs. Alabama (win or lose)....that #2 pick is going to be as valuable as the Rams #2 pick in 2012. KA-CHING !!!! We'll be counting #1 draft picks for as long as New Yorkers are cursing Bill DeBlassio.
Well Allen is bigger than Fields .. maybe Lamar too I would feel a little better about Fields carrying the ball only with double flak jacket or beefed up a bit no?
Daboll would be perfect. No thanks on Roman. He doesn't develop passers he's content on his quarterbacks being runners for the rest of their careers. Lamar Jackson hasn't improved as a passer at all and their offense isn't evolving. He's just so damn dynamic that it doesn't matter.
He's just as big as Allen as he's three inches shorter. Not sure where all these criticisms of Fields' size come from. He's in the 230-240 range. He's a big boy. He just caught a dynamic hitter destroying him tonight at the wrong angle. He runs over linebackers at times with a full head of steam.
I pray God that he shits the bed and throws 2 INT's just to mess with Jaguar fans minds. I want Jags fans to suffer for next 4 months.
Here's the $64,000 question....did Sam Darnold (and Josh Rosen, for that matter) make these same throws against college teams in their 2nd and 3rd years ???? Did they look as good ? Because quite frankly, I didn't watch most of their games like I did Trevor and Justin. I watched their last 2 games pretty much once the draft was clear, not before.
Trevor's family is looking at insurance coverage options for injury as a 4th year senior right about now.............
