Regardless of how he may really feel about it, I really like how he is handling it and what he has to say.... From NFL.com
I would imagine this would get a lot of comments along the lines of "Does he throw any other kind?" I think somewhere in the back of his mind, Clemens has to know that it's his last season as the backup. He'll get more PT now, and that's really all he can ask for.
What do you expect Clemens to say? he knows he's the backup, did you want him to start a QB controversy saying he should be playing?
Who are you asking this to? And who said anything at all that would make you think people want him to start a controversy? You're comin' out of nowhere....
Clemens: "I don't understand how Manboobs can keep starting Pennington over me. I think it's ridiculous that a noodle armed egg for a QB could start over me. Did you happen to notice how well I played last week after I stopped shitting my pants in fear of being buried by Ray Lewis? I mean, I need some help from my receivers, McCairens especially - you have to hold on to the damn ball. It's a joke that I'm not starting at this point."
F being classy, when the hell did pro football become classy, Classy is for losers. Man football has become such f'in pansy a** league. If some called Butkus or Ham classy they would probably stomp your head for it. I dont want my team to be "classy". I want them to be the meanest mutha's in the league, I want them to kick the other teams ass for 60 minutes and when its done stomp on there heads so they don't forget.
Why is he so classy? He's a backup QB who came in when the starter came up lame for a week.. He's just doing his job.
This is not an issue of class. It's an issue of timing and also a result of Mangini's speak no evil edict. The timing is all in Clemens favor. He's going to have the job sooner or later and it's starting to look like sooner. One of the few things that Mangini will go ballistic about is if a player criticizes his teammates or the coaching staff. He knows that he puts a lot of pressure on the players with his coaching style, much like Parcells, and he does not tolerate players putting additional pressure on each other publicly.
We'll see how classy he is if he is pacing the sidelines wearing his helmet like he's going to have his number called at any minute. He better be on that sideline in full back-up garb. I wanna see a headset, clipboard, and whole box of freshly sharpened #2 pencils or I'm going to scream foul.
It certainly would be unsupportive of him to be standing there from the get-go with his helmet on and a ball under his arm...
we should trade chad and kellen for some good olinemen, then draft pat white next spring and goto the super bowl for 5 yrs straight.....hahaha jk if that happened hemstead would burn
