was listening to clayton and salbury steak on the radio today and he said he has heard that both 1st rounders for us would be signed by monday tuesday the latest. salbury steak actually said we did a great job on the first 3 picks but that we need alot of help[
hate to know this but we absolutely suck out loud this year we're going nowhere fast, so my vote is for Clemens about mid season, cause come on when's the last time we had had a QB ?
I guess that depends on what your definition of 'going nowhere' is in reference to this situation. The Jets are not going to compete for anything in 2006 except for a probably decent draft pick, but you cannot expect a team full of players who never played together in large part to compete, and this is frighteningly obvious to me on the O-line. They now have a ton of potential, but they are still, collectively, a large question mark. It's possible that both of our first rounders bust, just as it is possible that they live up to expectations. By the end of a season that by all rights is a wash, we will be able to determine whether the Jets are actually 'going nowhere.'
How is John Clayton an idiot? He's not even an analyst. He does the behind the scenes work and reports the happenings. He's a reporter.
I'm glad you can predict the future. While the Jets have a lot of holes and are rebuilding, teams turn things around in the NFL pretty quickly. Who predicted the Bears would win their division in 2005 or that the Redskins would turn things around or that the Giants would be competitive or that Miami would win 9 games etc. If you are so smart, you'd be making big bucks in Vegas laying sports book bets. As for the last time the Jets had a QB, how about 2004 when Pennington led the team to within a missed FG of the AFC Championship?????? My God are memories short around here.
"Experts" are usually 3-4 years ahead. If the "sexy" pic this year is Miami, than they will be in the SB in 4 years. The Jets were the "sexy" pick last year so, 2009 here we come!
WRONG. I've been saying this for 3 years, there is no football analyst on this planet worse than sean salisbury.
a 52-year-old idiot!. He revealed his age on the show this week, and I was amazed. To me, he comes across as a smart-ass 13-year old who you make fun of until you have a problem with your computer, and then you beg his help. Why is this guy the centerpiece for ESPN's coverage of the NFL. He dwarfs Mort in appearences. He must have serious dirt on an ESPN executive.
And we would have smoked the Patriots too! Well, we at least would have played them better than the Steelers did. But for me, I'm glad we didn't lose in New England for the AFC title. That would have been downright sick.
CLAYTON looks like he needs to exfoliate and grown some new skin. he never moves his head while talking - reminds me of a lizard. jil
