That would be great for the Bears--not sure Pitt would accept that tho--its going to be meaningful draft-value points between the two I think
What do I know--but according to this site the projected difference in draft value points vtween the 2 picks is 540-320=220. 220 points is equivalent to pick #74 in the 3rd round. That's what CHI saved. https://www.drafttek.com/NFL-Trade-Value-Chart.asp?RequestTeam=chi
Really good move for Chicago IMO. They don't have to draft a WR with their 1 or 2 and can address the position again in FA. They will have $100m + and Clay + Mooney.
That TE Kmet is entering the TE upward value part of the curve too. If Fields turns it on maybe they got something.
Its a good deal for Pitt as well because he was becoming a complainer and was taken with a 2nd round compensation pick. Their getting more back than they spent.
I’m surprised at some of the comments. I think this is an overpay for the Bears. Claypool is fine but I don’t think the locker room presence is great given that (like JuJu), Claypool is more interested in being a celebrity than a good football player. It’s also completely based on perceived upside. He’s never broken 900 yards receiving and wasn’t on track to do it this year.
Claypool is kind of a one trick pony right? Strong hands, he can make the contested catches at the sideline but not much else. He struggles underneath coverage and is slow as muddy pond water in the open field. I do think its an overpay for the Bears
