Root HARD for the Colts tonight. If the bengals can pull to 8-6, then they have to face Denver next week. So someone will be eliminated from the race either way. If Cinci wins tonight and loses next week, both teams will still lead regardless. And with jax having to go against NE next week. A loss from Jax and a Cinci loss tonight gives the jets the opportunity to control their own destiny. With a Jax win next week and a Bengals loss tonight, we will be waiting on either a NE loss or Jax loss the following week, giving us a shot at either a WC or AFCE title. If cinci wins tonight, it will be MUCH more difficult to make the playoffs. EDIT - Sorry for MAJOR quick typing errors earlier, everything is corrected. Looks like I said Cinci where I meant to say Indi, and said NE where I meant to say Jax. I was in a huge rush this morning and didn't notice. SORRY FOR ALL THE CONFUSION:shit:
So we want the team competing with us for a wildcard to win, rather than the team that locked up their division? Interesting. By the way, any NE win gives them the division, so you're wrong in that respect as well.
I am aware, but at 9-5 then they HAVE to win next week. A loss would put both the Bengals and Broncos at 9-6 controlling their own destinies. The jets could win both games to get to 10-6 and not get in that way. A cinci loss tonight guarantees that a team will fall to 8-7 next week.
We need cincy to lose, if they lose they fall to 8-6 and then the loer of their game next week falls a game behind us.
Having the Bengals lose tonight would only help the Jets. However, I'm hoping this game is not necessary. I say that only because I do not think the Bengals will lose tonight, so I don't want to get my hopes up or your hopes up. The Jets have a couple different ways in. They need to finish 10-6 and then have the Jaguars lose one more time. Then they need either the Bengals or the Broncos to finish 9-7.
I never said that, I said if Jax wins it's not yet the end of the world. A jax loss is better, because it can give us the chance to control our own destiny.
This is very confusing. If Cincy LOSES tonight: Cincy 8-6 Den 8-6 NYJ 8-6 Jax 8-6 Then let's say cincy wins next week, NE wins and we win: Cincy 9-6 NYJ 9-6 Den 8-7 Jax 8-7 if Cincy wins tonight: cincy 9-5 den 8-6 NYj 8-6 Jax 8-6 Then if den upset cincy we'd really be in trouble b/c Cincy would still have 9 wins as would Den but if Cincy lsoes tonight and den beats them next week then we move ahead of Cincy.
Cinn vs Indy has really has zero efect on the Jets playoff hopes Next week Cinn vs Denv one team will have to go to 7 losses and is out If NE week 16 or KC (who might think they are still in it) week 17 can beat the Jags then they are at 7 losses and out BUT most important the Jets must beat Miami at home Christmas!!! and Go Pats!!!
I thought we needed to have cincy and jax lose 1 more at least and we win our last 2 in order to get the wild card... isnt that the case?
Dont forget that if Cinn wins this week and loses next week GOD FORBID San Fran might still be in the playoff hunt to knock off denver week 17
It absolutely has an effect, if Cincy wins tonight and den beats Cincy then we are in trouble but if Cincy loses tonight then the loser of the Cincy-Den game will be behind us.
i dont know how this became such a complicated topic. we need the bengals to lose tonight. point in case.
