I found this on my fantasy site

    Pennington outperforms competition
    Chad Pennington, QB NYJ

News: Chad Pennington, vying with three other QBs for the starting job, went 12-of-14 for 117 yards with the first-team offense Sunday. His green team won the scrimmage held at the Meadowlands. "It was really good for our team, there were a lot of real game situations we covered," Pennington said. "Coming into the stadium and getting prepared was just like a game, so I think it's going to prepare us. It's important for us to get out here, go through this and get something out of it." Pennington, playing against the first-team defense, outshined fellow green teammate Kellen Clemens, and opposing quarterbacks Patrick Ramsey and Brooks Bollinger. Ramsey was a disappointing 4-of-9 for 33 yards, but he was playing with the second-team offense. Still, two of those passes were batted down. Clemens went 3-of-7 for 24 yards, while Bollinger was 3-of-6 for 10 yards.

Analysis: Pennington appears to have the edge at winning the job even though coach Eric Mangini has been mum on the topic of choosing a starter. "Chad did some positive things," Mangini said. "Any time you have a high completion rate, that's a positive thing. It means you're moving the chains and effectively using the clock and putting yourself in position to move the ball. That's definitely encouraging. His presence was very good both on the field and on the sideline." When healthy, Pennington has the potential to throw for 3,000 yards and 20-to-25 touchdowns. However, staying healthy is a huge problem for Pennington, who has yet to play 16 games in any of his six NFL seasons. Owners should consider him a No. 3 Fantasy passer with potential to play like a No. 2 and maybe even fill in on bye weeks when the matchup is right.

I guess "noodle arm's" arm is on the al dente side in camp so far.

Speaking of al dente - I know it is very early, but I have the feeling some people on this board are going to have to "eat their words" regarding Pennington when this season is over.

In any event, his performance so far has been very encouraging and is nothing but good for the team.

As for Schlegel, who is he going to replace in the starting lineup? Certainly not Vilma or Barton.

Barton moving to the OLB spot wouldn't be too bad.
    Just speculating.

From the reports it sounds like the arm is healthy. That just leaves the question of whether he can stay that way throughout the season. I am guessing that so far they haven't let anyone knock him around. That will be another hurdle along the way. Encouraging news so far though.

Also on the plate - Ramsey. Plenty there for folks to eat as well.

Theres an old saying in boxing: everyone's got a championship gameplan until they get punched in the face. That applies here too. How will penny act under pressure, and after hits? I still have my jersey, so I hope he goes and becomes a hall of famer.
