No, when a player is traded, all the acquiring team has to pay is the base salary, not signing bonus, so it's always very beneficial for them. Even if his base salary is somewhat high, it's still a good deal, because he is cuttable at any time with no cap hit, and there is no prorated signing bonus to pay.
Thats wierd, I didn't mean for that to respond to you-- that was supposed to be in response to this one... "There is no partner for a JMac trade. He's due fat money until 2010." I'd love to get something for him.
