The Chiefs game might not be the breaking point as the Jets are expected to lose. But if they lose the following week to Denver who just gave up 70 points that will be the game where the team implodes. IMHO.
Oh, I am sorry, were you under the impression the line was not going to get Rodgers hurt? Many people said Rogers was hurt last season and he likely had a better line so lots of people questioned the cost and everything when he would not even likely play an entire season. It was like a 50/50 chance he would have made it out of preseason (my prediction was he wouldn't). I was shocked to see him play one snap in regular season. The plan was is and always to play Zach. Owner has zero interest in anyone else. The guy they just brought on is on the practice squad. The owner literally is laughing at you.
The rumors/speculation with the media was that JD/Saleh wanted to sign Carr and then use their remaining financial resources to try and build the OL. But Johnson wanted Rodgers and then spent money on his GB teammates to sign here.
Agreed. Chiefs are on another dimension and even with Rodgers we would be underdogs. Broncos game is another story.
Yes, yes you're so right I forgot that teams usually plan their implosions around their western conference opponents.
SOJS outcome with same old sh*t owner>>Woody John$on Heh..imagine if Rogers wasn't hurt or managed to stay healthy ..thats a big if if they wanted an OL fix
Rogers wouldn't have made it past Dallas and the beating he woulda endured. The line and Zach, a losing game right there.
So your prediction was that a guy who hasnt played in the preseason in years, wouldnt make it out of the preseason? Thanks Nostradamus
Its almost worth reflecting on just how unbelievable it is that in the most promising Jets year in over a decade we're now debating in September which exact game the Jets locker room will totally implode. I can't even believe Zach Wilson is still on the roster after last season let alone the apparent unquestioned starter, actively flushing the season down the toilet, and there is no serious attempt at a plan B. How is this happening? Its like surreal.
I feel like he copy and pasted this article from one he wrote years ago. Cimini does not know shit. That doesn't mean he's not right, but he puts things out there he doesn't know but appears to be the case from the outside.
Why would the locker room be close to imploding? Are they being abused or do we have a bunch of children on our team? They all get paid a lot of money to do their job, and quitting becasue things don't go like planned is for sissies. If the locker room does implode we need to clean house and start again. But I don't believe it is starting to implode.
Because those players want to play more than 3 years and want to get good contracts after the jets - they wont if they will continue to play with Zach Wilson, cause he makes everyone look bad
These rumours are BS. Carr never wanted to come to NY. People are making up stuff with no basis in fact.
Former Jets assistant and Eagles coach Buddy Ryan liked to say that is was NOT FAIR to the rest of players to keep playing a guy at a key position for whatever reason when he is failing. I really don't think Saleh and Douglas understand how pissed Garrett Wilson, Breece Hall, Michael Carter, and the entire defense is watching Zach and his $32M contract FAIL EVERY WEEK. It is very selfish of Saleh/Douglas to stick with Zach as part of this three year debacle. The defense gets tired of being on the field that long. Some of the skill offensive players can't make their contract incentives. And, hey, the players really want to WIN. Saleh's statement that Zach gives the best chance to win is the most absurd thing he ever said. Forget everything else, I hope Saleh and Douglas BOTH get fired this offseason because of their DENIAL of reality. I play poker with some guys every Tuesday night, and many of us like different teams. They know I like the jets. One guy, an Eagles fan, asked me last week: "Why are the jets still playing Zach Wilson?" Even the non-jets fans can see the obvious--too bad Saleh and Douglas live in an alternative world. Hopefully in 2024 all three (Douglas, Saleh, and Zach) will be somewhere else (but still singing Zach's praises).
