According to Walter Football, we have reportedly been in numerous talks with him. I really really like this kid!! Thoughts?
Seems like a lot of character questions. The Jets already have a "me-first" WR they'd like to get rid of..
What about his ability to block and catch on 3rd down? Attitude and coaching issues also according to the scouting report. Can't stress enough, we need someone who can block and catch
Don't worry about those things. For a college RB, he's a pretty decent blocker. He's also got the hands to catch passes. Much better than Greene anyway. There's only 2 reasons to question whether Jets should draft him. 1) He's been reported to have attitude problems. 2) He's had some season ending injuries. Jet doctors & NFL combine doctors will give them the full understanding of how those past injuries affect him. The attitude issues are iffy. Not sure how Jets can verify that. http://www.nfl.com/combine/profiles/christine-michael?id=2539322
www.ganggreennation.com/2013/2/24/4025752/scouting-the-2013-nfl-draft-ranking-the-running-backs According to this we should draft Knile Davis
He's a guy I've liked for quite sometime. He finishes his runs like a pro. My only concern is his injury history.
Scary stuff. I hate to sound cold but most of these RB are destined to be kicked aside when it's time to negotiate second contract (even if they're productive). Shelf life on these guys is so short, I'd be very worried if I see: - big injuries in college. - lots of carries in college ball. When Stepfan Taylor was lining for his 40-yard dash, I think the announcer said he already had 300+ carries.
Jake Steinberg @Steiny31 #Jets are reportedly "very interested" in Texas A&M RB Christine Michael. They've already met with him multiple times, per Walter Football.
Michael was impressive at the combine. He put up solid numbers in almost every drill. He's a lot more athletic than you would think a 5-10 220+ pounder would be. There's a you tube video out there doing a Braylon Edwards style backflip with ease.
Regarding whether or not he's a good fit, Mike Sherman, a WCO disciple, was his OC for 3 years. Coincidently, a lot of the attitude issues came from the fact that he wasn't too happy with the switch from the WCO where he was a focal point to the spread.
Michael is a tough guy to grade. He may have had a down year because he was coming off an ACL. He's certainly a guy I might take a flyer on, if the board falls that way, but not before the 4th round. I don't see him as the solution to our running back issues, and frankly, I'd prefer someone more dynamic. -X-
Apparently Christine overslept and missed 2 team interviews at the combine. Not looking good for his draft status (for him). He might fall to the later rounds. https://twitter.com/Gil_Brandt/status/306547815146995712
You have to be kidding me. Oversleeping like this at such a critical point in his life?? WTF is gonna happen AFTER he's drafted and guaranteed a crap load of money. Was thinking he could be a good pickup in 4th round. Fuck That. I'd rather close my eyes & pick some random RB left over from from the first 3 rounds. So many of them are ranked pretty close to each other anyway. No need to accept this baggage. Makes you think more of the drama he was having with his college coaching staff also.
As a result of his sleeping habits, I say he's worth a 7th round flier. Other than that, --- forget it.
Does it say why he over slept? Can anyone make a mistake and not get impaled on this board? This kid is going to be the best RB out of this draft, I think the Packers have him on their radar, whoever passes on him is going to regret it.
