    The great singer-songwriter of Fleetwood Mac has passed away "after a short illness."

    Like ex-husband John McVie and Mick Fleetwood, she spanned the three eras of the band from blues to transitional to pop superstardom. Unlike the other two she was right out front as a hitmaker, along with Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks.

    The impact of Rumours was truly staggering - one of the very best albums of all time.

    RIP. Fleetwood Mac is a great band, and she was a big reason for that.
