This guy is an absolute joke. It's beyond pathetic how he continues to shill for Zach Wilson, simply because this self professed "Draft Expert" promised the world that he was going to be the next Aaron Rodgers: You see, despite the fact that Mike White had the best QB Performance of ANY QB this week, the Jets were WRONG to start him over Zach Wilson last week. Please keep moronic comments like this in mind when this joke of charlatan is making his draft predictions next year.
This guy made a fool of himself last week on National TV. He’s so salty he was visibly emotional and angry that the Jets sat Zach. He’s just clinging in vain to the last shreds of credibility.
It doesn’t make much sense because these guys can just let their takes disappear and no one will ever remember them. Orlovsky was adamant for a while Darnold was the best QB from the class and then he let that take disappear and no one really remembers.
I don't know about that. There used to be an entire website devoted to reminding everyone of Mike Francesca's predictions that proved to be flat-out wrong. With the Internet, nothing ever goes away.
https://www.skysports.com/nfl/news/...uarterback-in-2021-nfl-draft-says-chris-simms Chris Simms on Zach Wilson: "For my money, he is the best quarterback in the draft; when I studied him, I felt like I was watching Aaron Rodgers or Patrick Mahomes-ish kind of play"
Why is Simms so emotional about it? He’s not a Jets fan, he’s not Zach’s buddy…. So why all the emotion? Could it be because his credibility has been decimated? He’s not dealing in facts or truth, he’s dealing in emotional bias. You can tell that immediately when a “professional” blames the run game woes without prefacing that the QB’s poor play likely contributed to those woes.
While Simms makes good points about the bipolar idiocy of Jets fans he ignores the regression and complete falling apart of Wilson. He also makes a valid point about the schedule. It is one thing to play badly but he completely fell apart against NE. It should be obvious that Wilson was at the point where he is not mentally able to play football. The CS and Saleh quickly realized this. Simms argues the benching harm's Zach's long term potential. If we are looking at Wilson's long term if there is a long term it will not be helped by playing him when he is not mentally able to play and further eroding his confidence. At this point I think Simms is making this video for page hits and to stir controversy. Here is an alternative point of view on the QB change from Sabo and Chrebet.
You can certainly make valid points about how NO ONE on the offense showed up for the New England game, as well as the schedule. However, NO schedule can possibly validate these numbers when the Jets put a ton of effort into improving the quality of players surrounding Zach Wilson compared to a year ago: 35th in Completion Percentage (dead last out of the starting quarterbacks) 34th in Touchdown to Interception ratio 26th in QBR 32nd in EPA/per play
(6) Evan Roberts on Twitter: "Elijah Moore and Garrett Wilson have 10 career TD Receptions…only 1 of which was thrown by Zach Wilson." / Twitter
Chris Simms is clown. Fuck that guy. You want to be wrong about a QB? Fine, go for it, everyone knows you only have that seat because of your dad anyway. But endlessly talking shit about Jets fans like we have anything to do with Zach Wilson sucking? FUCK off
Fair, but we leave in a bit of a different world now where the name of the game in sports media is producing content and there’s a lot more content producers out there than there was for years when Francesa started to become more hated.
I listened to the segment and honestly I think Chris is right. Zach should have been given the rest of the season. If he flamed out then we would have known he sucks. Now there will be the “what ifs”. The flip side is that this team hasn’t made the playoffs in ten years, and by benching him now he still has value in a potential trade.
Let's never forget this prediction in the same draft class. The man is making money for nothing https://www.sportingnews.com/ca/nfl...ance-2021-nfl-draft/a331peu7nvnq10vizr6arh34z Zach Wilson, BYU Trevor Lawrence, Clemson Mac Jones, Alabama Kellen Mond, Texas A&M Justin Fields, Ohio State Trey Lance, North Dakota State The previous year for comparison Joe Burrow (Selected No. 1 overall) Justin Herbert (Selected No. 6 overall) Jordan Love (Selected 26th overall) Tua Tagovailoa (Selected No. 5 overall) Jacob Eason (Selected 122nd overall)
that would be true if we had no shot at the playoffs when we are squarely in the playoff mix, and would be WAY better seated if ZW played halfway decently vs the Pats, you can’t sabotage the season for one guy who is so clearly SHITTING THE BED … you’d lose the team just like we’ve been losing the receiver room … seriously…how much more do we need to see? He sucks. He HAS sucked. His stats look no better 20 games in than they did last year. He’s not getting much better. jeez
