They wouldn’t be doing that unless they had a reason to. And that reason is because their ratings have been getting crushed for well over a year. Just like all cable “news” networks - they love the screeching. But when it doesn’t work, it’s time to pivot. https://www.forbes.com/sites/markjo...s-ratings-as-all-networks-see-steep-declines/
CNN needs to find somebody good at two things: one presenting news stories in an unvarnished fashion w/o all the posing and outrage that *all* of the cable networks employ at this point, two asking questions of interviewees and then listening to the answers with their ears and not their mouth. A young Ted Koppel clone would be perfect.
What America is missing right now is Daniel Patrick Moynihan and Ted Koppel and it is going to cost us in a big way.
Holy shit...I knew Fox News was leading in the ratings... but I didn't realize that they are absolutely curb-stomping CNN & MSNBC. I guess their brand of bullshit is more palatable to viewers.
A good friend of mine did a painting of Ted Koppel back in 1983, it was so great. Well, it wasn't exactly of Ted Koppel, it was an interior painting with Koppel on TV, haha. 6' x 9'.
CNN and MSNBC are finding out that life without the big bad orange man in the WH is not easy for them. Fox can bitch about Biden on a daily basis, often using hyperbole and ignoring valid criticisms.
The amazing thing is that Koppel was a very respectful, quiet down-to-earth interviewer who took great pains to listen to his subjects. By doing that he managed to be just part of the background and great news stories emerged. What was his first job at ABC? Howard Cosell's copy boy. And Cosell had a polar opposite style where he was always part of the story as well as covering it.
The thing I remember Koppel most for is when he told Brian Stelter that CNN would be lost without Trump and its ratings would be in the toilet. We are seeing that come to fruition now.
CNN needs to get back to reporting the news. There's a lot of it out there and yet instead we get an endless diet of politics, politics in the guise of policy, politics in the guise of muckraking, etc.
I'm thinking the Russia collusion story turning out to be fake really affected their ratings. MSNBC & CNN covered it 24/7... and it was all bullshit. Why would viewers trust them after that? They also actively suppressed other stories that didn't fit their agenda... Hunter's laptop for instance. They're all just deep state run propaganda outlets... funded by Big Pharma and pillow makers.
She's awful, but at least it's presented as a TV tabloid . . . kind of. Does anyone recall how Jane Pauley got screwed over by NBC with Deborah Norville? I felt bad for the BOTH of them, it was awful. She's better lookin' than you, so you're out. That's why Pauley was ousted. That's it. Barbara Walters lisps and Katy Couric has bad gums so who really knows what the hey? Oh, man, does anyone remember the Jessica Savitch thing, too? Savitchquiddick. I felt so bad for her dog. : / Half-kidding.
Or maybe they’ve come to realize that the extreme leftist brand of bullshit that they ram down peoples throats doesn’t jive with a large conglomerate of American’s.
