Incredibly stupid move, I can't see it turning out very well for him. Some guys just don't know when they have it good.
Get ready to see failed gadget plays, inability to run the ball, and taking too many gambles. Wanted to say he can't get his team up but that won't be on him in FLA. Both Quinn and Clausen did flourish under him though. Expect FLA to be a pass heavy team because Weis could not get Cierre Wood up like Kelly is doing this year or get Allen/Darius Walker to do well during his time too.
what the fuck? why? if he continued to do well (again) as a coordinator in the NFL he'll get another shot as a HC in college anyway so why go back to college? maybe something happened behind the scenes in kc?
Haley is a control freak especially with the offense and is known to be very fiery so an argument isn't out of the realm between the 2.
if Weiss believes he has no chance of ever being an NFL head coach after failing at Notre Dame, but wants to be a head coach and knows the college is where he is going to end up anyways, why not simply go back to the college ranks? it is possible he likes the college game more than the NFL, and the guy got paid almost $20 million to walk away from Notre Dame, so it isn't as if he has to make deciions based simply on getting the last penny. I don't see anything to criticize in this move.
I guess I'm the only one that sees this as a good hire for Florida. None of this will be on him. Will Muschamp is calling the shots. Muschamp wants a pro-style offense at Florida. Weis is pretty damn good at running one of those. Florida is going to run the football. They will be a defensive minded team under Muschamp. Florida is bringing in Jeff Driskel, who's one of the best quarterback prospects in the country. He may opt to play pro baseball though. Jordan Reed and Trey Burton will have to switch positions because they're definitely not pro-style QBs. Did Cierre Wood even play last season? Armando Allen was more productive under Weis than he was under Kelly.
Turns out that his son was supposed to be working for Muschamp at Texas but now has followed Muschamp to Florida... Could be that he wants to help his son out...
I actually thought this was a great hire. Weis will install a good pro-style offense with Muschamp there to build the defense. We're going to see a huge shift in philosophy for Florida's offense. Kansas City delenda est.
