    Chandler Jones-6-5 266lbs

I heard Todd Mcshay and Mel Kiper talking about how impressed they had been by him after watching his tape. I just got done looking on the big board on Bleacher Report and saw him up there and watched some tape.

I like what I see in regards of his motor and sideline to sideline pursuit of players. He has long arms and I like his swim moves in general. I think he could work if we go in a different direction in the first round. He doesn't have the ideal speed but his hustle could make up for it.

    What do you guys think?

He has been on my wish list for a trade back situation... He is defiantly one of the better athletes in the draft LB wise

He looks the part, but he has very little production to suggest he'll be a difference maker. There are more productive guys with comparable numbers.

As a current SU grad student, I saw every SU game this year. Jones was pretty much the only guy worth watching (although Phillip Thomas S has a chance to make a roster and might be a sleeper prospect...)

I love the guy, he is a great pass rusher, he was badly needed in the games he missed this year. I would want a medical clearance for the 4 games he missed. All that was reported was "lower leg injury"

Secondly, as much as I love the guy, I don't think he can be a 3-4 OLB. I think he is strictly a 4-3 end. He is great at the point of attack, and he proved athletic enough to do the 3-4 OLB stuff. But his hips are so stiff, the weakest part of his game is the chase down. When somebody gets behind him, he has a nightmare of a time twisting and chasing down the ball carrier. It didnt happen often, because he was so much better than the OL he was going against, but he showed poorly when he did. As a result, I just don't think he has the ability to play the 3-4 OLB spot.

To be fair he missed 4 games with an undisclosed "lower leg injury"

Some freak athleticism in that family, one of his brothers is in the NFL and the other is the youngest UFC light heavyweight champion in history.

Haven't seen much of Jones play though, gotta check out some film.

I see people play him up like he's some athletic freak, but he's really not. Not a whole lot of explosion in his game, he's more Arthur Jones than Jon Jones.

I hear he's more of a 4-3 DE than a 3-4 OLB, Im still on the Melvin Ingram train right now and I think he'll be our pick especially if Seattle gets Mario Williams

Im a fan of this guy, but its essential that if hes drafted that people know what he is. Hes a project. This is no Upshaw, this guys gonna take 2~3 seasons to get accustomed to the nfl, either a late 2nd or a 3rd this guys a great pick.

@ 48 I just dont think hes the best option though, but if we trade back in the first or 2nd, by all means am I completely open to bringing this guy along. Assuming someone like Barron or Curry isnt available

I have been pumping Phillip Thomas for months, and Mike Mayock had him in this years top 5 safeties. I would say he goes within the late 3rd to early 5th round.

As a bias SU fan, I am not sold on Jones to the Jets in a 3-4 scheme.

As a die hard SU football fan, the only player they have this year that I'd consider taking is Nick Provo in the late rounds or free agency. Thomas sucks and Chandler is strictly a hand in the ground guy. On top of that, he's overrated.

I Agree. Only if Bones Jones decided to have played football instead of fight, I think he would of been a freak of a wide receiver.
