Can someone explain to me how come the Jets don't just keep Pennington as a backup if he doesn't want to take a paycut. If we cut him we take a cap hit of 12 million or something like that. The only thing I could see is if we cut Pennington he is completly of the salary in 2007, if that's the case we should take our hit this season to make the future better.
If Pennington doesn't agree to any cut,he counts $15 million against the cap.If the Jets cut him before March 3,he counts $12 million against the cap
HAHA...cutting Fiedler saves us like 5 million bucks, but for some reason we are keeping him? How does that make sense?
He never said he won't restructure. Just didn't agree to the first rediculous deal. He might be cut, but it's way too soon to say for sure one way or another. It doesn't really make sense for either side not to come to some type of compromise.
U can probably tell from my avatar n sig that im a huge Chad fan, but for all the thrills n good memories he gave us i think its time to move on. If we are ever going to move forward as a possible super bowl contender we have to end ties with chad
I think both sides are playing hardball. Chads best chance for a shot as a starter and maybe make 2 or 3 mil are here with the jets. The FO would prefer a 2 or 3 mil cap hit over a 12 mil hit. My thoughts? They get a deal done this week. Keep Bolly, grab a QB early in the draft, then open competition in camp.
He also has a 4 mil bonus due. If we keep him its a 5 mil hit. Cutting him before 6/1 saves us 4.7 mil.
