    agree man

was hoping fields tore it up for 6 TDs!!!

    hate the indifference

however assuming we believe JoeD, these guys have all been graded for weeks....the one game is not enough to change the overall body of work and the grade

if we take fields I’ll root hard for him
No doubt he will win us more than 2 games

I’m just nervous that we will be the Texans and not have enough for him.

    Anyway
Whatever JD does, I’ll root for

    Until otherwise
    I do trust JD

    call me stupid

but even though he made mistakes I think he has a sound foundation of what it takes to build a quality team

Fields didn't play great and he didn't play badly. I don't think he hurt his draft value, except for maybe on this board.

But don't you just hate the fact we could have HELPED the GM by losing out and make it a no brainer by selecting TL? This is why I despise this Team ...and Fuck Sean Mcvay the Rams and the Browns who let us win and praised Adam Gase
    Are you kidding?

I guess we learned that if you liked Fields he didn’t play awful enough to dissuade you and if you didn’t like him he didn’t play well enough to convince you otherwise. I’m in the latter.

to his defense he was injured and had to play catch up against arguably the best offense in college history.

And interesting development from this game is that the dolphins may take Dovonta Smith with the 3rd. That would shake things up a little.

Besides torching the 2nd best team in the country on a national stage?

Look up his stats for the last two years.

    this is me

I don't see him as a GREAT prospect...I think he's ok, and he looks great at times playing on a stacked team. But I don't see #2 overall great here.

He showed me a lot of heart and toughness against Clemson...today he looked ok. Just ok. Made some nice throws, but also missed a bunch.

I just don't see him as night and day better than Darnold. His stats are worlds better, yes. But put him on our team this year, and I don't think he's much different than what we got.

That being said, there is value in resetting the QB contract on a rookie deal.

To me, the best player on the field tonight was D Smith. I just worry that at 175 pounds, he's a bit small for the NFL. A physical corner may give him trouble. But he's very quick, fast, fluid...

I don't know if we'd be better off with Justin Fields at 2 and then a free agent WR1, or better with a free agent WR1, plus D Smith, to pair with Mims and Crowder, and then let Darnold see what he can do.

    I don't know.

but I know that Fields is not a transcendent QB...he may be better than Darnold, but he may be about the same...I'm not sure

Surtain locked up Olave tonight. That was going to be a key matchup for analysis

Crazy to think Bama might have 6-7 kids drafted in the first round!

    Randy Moss was 6'4" 194 with 34" arms and a 4.38 40.

Whatever Devonta Smith is he's no Randy Moss. Moss was the original freak.

I have been critical of Fields but you know he showed me something different from when he faced other strong defensive clubs (NW/Indiana). He wasn’t as reckless with the ball and worked through progressions in the pocket. Maybe because he couldn’t take off and run if his first read wasn’t there because of his injury.. not sure..
